Another weekend another cleaning session I had to get all the bug guts and sawdust from building the temp sub enclosure off, oh and this is the first pic since I removed the FX4 decals. I also installed my tailgate assist from amazon.

If I do what I did in the silverado where I had 4 ports, all open for competition use, and then 2 capped for daily use it will look something like this. Where the comp tuning is 45Hz and the daily tuning is 32Hz.

This triggers my OCD something fierce but I have to keep telling myself this is only temporary.... This is only Temporary....

For anyone curious this board is held in via the old child seat bracket bolt holes, I have a stash of bolts/screw etc that I keep the left overs from tv wall mounts and other random stuff and I was able to find screws that fit perfectly in those nut plates.

As stated above this is only temporary, as I think I am going to move all of this off the back wall once I pull the rear seat out and start making a floor, I should have enough room in the cubby holes for the amps (including the sub amp I have not bought yet) and the DSP and LC2i. I do not care about fading control as the rear speakers are for fill and I just EQ them down in the DSP and the gain on those channels is lower.

I may change mids/highs amp, as I am not a fan of this ones internal fan which generates a LOT of noise.

And if there is not enough room in the cubbies, I can always do what I did in my silverado which was raise up the enclosure. The silverado was built so I could get the most out of the space utilized inside the truck without having to use any of the bed space for amps/batteries etc.

This was the final iteration of the install, where you see the box ends and there's a small panel held in via pressure fit. On this side just below my mids/highs amp where 3 80mm fans that kept airflow going across the sub amp.

This is what it looked like under the sub box.

And here the pressure panel is off the front so you can see how I mounted the box to the floor. The spacing was done with 2x4's, so all along the front there is a 2x4 and each side had smaller leg 2x4s and the back also had 2x4 legs. The front and sides where pocket jigged so there were screws running up into the box and down into the floor on the front and sides. There were no other mounting techniques used. Before anyone asks, yes hard brake stops where tested and this box did not move.

This was done over many weekends, so I have a lot of work ahead of me in the Maverick, but I will get it done I just have to decide on the finish I want to do on the box. Right now I am leaning towards a paint color matched stain as a top coat with ebony stain undercoat and doing a rustic sand and then polyurethane coat on top.

Two panels and 4 15mm bolts and the bandaid has been ripped off, floor mocks to start this weekend! All the temp stuff will be redone and eventually end up in the cubby holes, minus the 10 inch sub which will just be replaced by the (2) Sundown U 15s.

Well couldn't take waiting any longer so I had my wheels and tires done today. Now I just need to find a shop near me that can install Eibach pro springs and do an alignment. For those wondering, TSW Ascent 20x8.5 40mm offset, 255/45ZR/20 Michelin A/S Sport 3 tires, these were on my Edge ST.

Well the first 10 sq ft of deadener is in and done, and while this isn't that difficult its time consuming and it's very much reminding me of how old I am!

I used to jump in to every project with no forethought. Now I have to consider where it's going to hurt tomorrow, and for how long past tomorrow.

What have I been doing, well pacing my old self, only working for about an hour a day after work to add more DEADENER! My least favorite part of doing an install, and to think I have 80 sq feet of closed cell foam to do after this!

Yes yes, I know the rats nest is still there, I wire tied it up to keep it out of the way. It will in time be gone, but for now its keeping me sane keeping my music going.

So another weekend more work to be done, I have gotten the deadener all done and did the back wall and the area below it in acoustic closed cell foam.

More to come, but I have to order more closed cell foam!
