Maybe it's just me, but I just got my maverick Thursday and it feels like this thing needs an alignment. It seems to drift to the right.

Tire pressures are a little higher than recommended (came that way) but all four tires are the same so I wouldn't think that's an issue for the drift?

Sorry I'm not much of a car expert so just curious if anyone else has experienced this. Maybe I'm just crazy.

It drifts to the right when you take your hands off the wheel? Or it pulls to the right and you have to countersteer? It should drift right (so it does not drift into oncoming traffic)

Well I guess it's more of a drift but I haven't noticed it on my other vehicles, I guess it seems more prominent to me. I've noticed it on a few different roads. Not sure I guess, I need to drive it around a little more and see I guess. I'm probably just paranoid lol.

Sounds like a trip to the dealer for an alignment check is in order.

Road crown can cause this, as well, on some roads. I doubt the new vehicle has an alignment problem but anything is possible.

Appreciate the posts. I need to drive for a few more days and see what happens.

Yeah not normal. New cars should go straight. I have 20 years old cars that go straight. Highly doubt they test all vehicles alignment before they leave factory. Report to dealer and they should fix no problem, sooner the better so they don't think you hit something.

Every new car I buy I get the alignment check. I worked at new car dealerships years ago and alignment was part of getting a car ready for sale. That no linger happens. After one of my cars wore out the front tires in less than 20,000 miles because of alignment I have every car checked. My last car in 2019, the shop even checked it for nothing. Cheap insurance indeed.

I would set pressure with the tires cold to what is specified on the tire and if it is still pulling I’d have the dealer do a quick alignment check.

I wouldn’t set the tire pressure at the maximum pressure listed on the tire. That has nothing to do with the correct air pressure listed on the sticker on the door jam.

They always over inflate tires when they ship new cars because in the past cars would seat on the lot for several month and they want to avoid flat spots. Now these days cars go directly from the delivery truck to customers. Most dealership don't do anything, zero, nada with the new cars/trucks when they are delivered. My tires were inflated to 45 PSI as I drove from the lot. I brought it home and set all 4 to 35PSI. I would recommend everyone who gets the truck to have them check everything properly before taking it home.

My dad did this for the longest time, had to tell him to stop doing that and go by the sticker in the door jamb or he was gonna have a bad time when one of his tires exploded once they got heat into them

Wait, so you know more then the engineer that designed and engineered the tire?
Now im not at all saying, that what is on the door is wrong, so long as its the factory installed and engineered tires, but you do know that tire build up more heat quicker when they are underinflated, as opposed to overinflating them?
Oh and i would love to debate you on tires exploding from being overinflated.....
Ford Maverick Alignment?? Sideways

Those tires are 15psi over the "cold" recommended pressure on the side of the tire. I typically, depending on the turn, have anywhere between 80-120 MPH wheel speeds during a drift, and depending on the event, i run back to back to back for 45 mins to a hour, before having to change the tires due to wear. I run a small home made "tire sprayer" consisting of small windshield washer parts, to spray water on the tire between runs to prolong the life of the tread, but do not typically let the carcass of the tire cool.
