My Maverick should be delivered in the next 2wks. I want to be prepared so I'd like to hear your thoughts on;
Ceramic clear coat: use dealer or someone in the community? Why would you coat interior? Is it worth it? What about spray, wipe off DIY I see advertised?
Financing: I had great credit- 800+
Should I try pre approval with Ford or local bank. Or wait and work with the dealership?
Anything Else?

Get your financing pre approved though your credit union/bank. It will give you options. My first 22 Maverick I got less than 1% Ford financing. My 2025 the dealer didn't even try to get me my best rate. ( I will pay the 25 off this year so I didn't fight it).

I use the spray on ceramic coat, It looks good but not professional...

Thank you. What ceramic spray do you use?

I use Meguiar's from the local auto parts. I don't know the name off hand.
I'm sure it's about the same as Mother's or Turtle Wax ceramic spay.

Agree with getting financing upfront. If you're a vet NavyFed is currently offering some of the best rates. PennFed is also pretty competitive. for 60Mo. I got preapproved for 4.49 and 4.99 respectively.

If you are a Vet then go with USAA 4.25%
Not sure what you mean Gpp about the key. All Ford prodcuts are shipped with two keys. If a dealer tells you they only have one then explain to him Ford told you two - was about to have the same issue a month back. Even the Ford web site states you get two keys....if that is what you meant...

Check behind the rear seat, check the upper an lower C-Pillars for any broken clips.
Mine had the rear window busted out during transport from factory and dealer didn't say a word. Contacted Customer Service in Detroit and found out all about it. So now I'm holding the bag on two broken upper C-Piller covers at $300 each.

Be very picky about everything. If it is something broken have them fix it. If they won't fix it then ask for a discount.

Afterwards, ENJOY THE HELL OUT OF IT !!!!!! Congrats.

I'd consider front end PPF after delivery, the paint on these new vehicles seem to chip very easily.

I was out of town for a few days when mine was delivered back in '22.
I was excited to take it home , did a quick walk around , was pleased and then happened to glance in the bed . At some point the dealership dropped the tailgate and slid something in and out of the bed . Very obvious scratches .....😡 .
I pointed it out to them , they gave me a free spray in bed liner .
I'm sure I would have had ZERO recourse if I discovered it at home ....

I had dealer install PPF, full front + hood + mirrors.
Knowing what I know now, I would have a local Pro do it instead.

I'm just not super happy with the PPF application; some bubbles that won't go away in the fender. But, its better than nothing.
The mirror caps have a lot of edges and creases and it doesn't look great to me when "up close".

From 5 feet away, none of it is noticeable/a concern..so I'll live with it, since its not worth reinstalling at this stage.

But, I also highly rec PPF for the cheap/thin Ford paint. My Focus ST had so many chips on the front end and hood.. I didn't want to deal with that again.

Yeah right after I took delivery I was going on vacation so I dropped it off at my local place so they could do everything at once before I really started driving it. Had them do tint, PPF, tonneau cover and splash guards.
