for me, and your experience may differ...

I went from a '15 long bed super crew powerstroke F350 to my current '23 F150 EB..absolutely miss my 350. even with the supercrew & long bed, I had great turning radius, the 150 seems to take 100 acres to be able to make a u-turn.

I'm not impressed with the current 150, far inferior to my previous 150 ('13).

actually looking to the increase in mileage & decreased turning radius (I hope).

at 61 & close to retirement, I'm hoping this will be ly last ever vehicle :)

I came out of a '18 F150 SCrew 4x4 with a tuned 2.7 that ran high 4's 0-60, and got 23mpg in the summer..... I LOVED that truck, but it was overkill for sure, as far as what I was doing with it. The Maverick looked perfect for my use case, and I sold my F150 back in the crazy covid days, and made $9K over what I paid for it 2 years prior, and 40K miles.... so it was as much of a financial decision as a practical one. Things I miss from the F150, the crazy instant torque of that tuned 2.7, the interior space & comfort, the smooth quiet ride, and the capability of the "true" 4x4 system. But having said all that, I really like my Maverick, it's done everything, from a work perspective, that I used to do with my F150. The advantages are pretty obvious, cost to own/operate, ease of being a DD due to the size & AWD system, and better handling (not ride..). Overall, I am happy with my change, and plan to keep the Mav for a a while, until a worthy replacement comes along, which I haven't found yet. So, I think you will transition pretty easy, especially for a DD, it's just easier to live with day to day vs the F150. But damn, I do miss that truck sometimes...😘

So the Lariat pkg not include the driver side keyless keypad? I thought that was standard on the Lariats. Only the F150s?

They killed the door pillar keypad in 23, dumbass decision. Now you can only get the stick on one that the dealer must program. Ford always finds a way to F up a good thing.

Sluggish off the line? I can tell you haven't driven a hybrid. Put the thing in drive and stand on the gas pedal, even better, put it into Sport mode and stand on it. Not sluggish.
You're right. The hybrid is anything but sluggish. Very peppy off the line and online. Truth be told, Sport mode can raise the hairs on arm.

Ford has also deleted it from the MY25 F150's regardless of trim level. One of the most Stupid Decisions Ford has made imo.

You've clearly never tried sport mode on the Hybrid.

But also, you can really get a minivan going if you pull all the seats out. If you can't have fun with a vehicle, you just aren't getting creative enough. 😆

Tow haul does more than sport mode, and it still doesn't change the fact you reach a wall where you cant get any more RPM. Perfect for someone who doesn't want a fun ride and is ok with the costs savings instead.

When my family was young it was always pushed on me that I needed a mini van. At the time we had an F150 and old style Ranger with jump seats behind the front seats. I always said firmly DEATH before Mini Van!!! so no i dont have any mini van experience but the the Maverick is fun and zippy! If i wanted fast i would buy a Mustang!

If you think it's zippy you must never have tried the eco! Once above 40 mph it doesn't do anything. When I test drove it I found it difficult to merge into traffic properly.

Not sure what the problem was, but there obviously was one.

I have absolutely no problem at all in my Hybrid, accelerating to merge into freeway traffic or pass someone.

Glad you're enjoying it! Not for me.

Before I ordered my 23 Hybrid, I test drove a 22 EcoBoost and a 22 Hybrid. The EB was an abolute hoot to drive, a peppy as all get out. Honestly, it felt like it had more "guts" than the Mercedes SLK I used to own... I really enjoyed driving it, but I also realized that I didn't "need" the extra power for the way I planned to use my Maverick. I also realized that I would probably wind up getting more speeding tickets with that EB, because it was just so FUN to push it...

The 22 Hybrid certainly didn't feel like the EB - none of that "kick in the butt" type of acceleration - and I did notice that the acceleration does taper off a bit at higher speeds. But having said that, I find my 23 Hybrid routinely just walks away from cars stopped next to me at stoplights - only to see those drivers speed up like crazy to pass me again (even if it means going well over the speed limit to do so), and then slow back down to the speed limit afterward. I just laugh off their insecurities as I watch the mpg readout go higher and higher... I didn't buy the Maverick to do street racing.

I will say that if hauling a trailer was something I needed to do regularly (or even sporadically), the EB would be the much better choice, although I would pay a price at the pump. But I no longer have a trailer (or any real reason to tow one), so the Hybrid is just fine for me. And I really enjoy routinely seeing 44-52 mpg on my drives around town, though highway miles drop my total average to more like 38 mpg over a full tank.

More importantly, in almost 12,000 miles of driving (70% city 30% highway) I have never once felt like the Hybrid did not have sufficient power to merge into traffic properly - and I live in the Austin area, where our one N-S interstate is ridiculously crowded with folks who all think the 60 mph signs actually mean 80 mph... All in all, I'm glad I went with the Hybrid, but I cannot fault anyone who falls in love with the EcoBoost's "kick"... Either way, I think the Maverick is a great little truck.
