Additional USB Power Outlet wanted :

I would like to know if anyone has or knows how to install additional USB Power Outlets behind or under the back seat of the Maverick? Not the center console area but actually behind or under the seat.

I store my portable jumper and tire pump under the seat and would like to be able to have the charge while driving so they are fully charged anytime I or someone else needs them.

I don't want to run long cables from the center console since those ports are for passenger use.

I know people install audio components behind the seat so there must be a way to get power there, I just don't know how and if it would be too difficult to pursue for adding a couple USB ports.

In your hybrid, the 12V battery is literally under the back seat; that's where the power is coming FROM .

1. Find a 12V to USB hub/adapter/outlet that fits your need. If it has a cigarette plug you can cut that off or get an adapter for that if you wish.
2. Get a proper inline fuse.
3. Appropriate sized wiring and connectors.
4. Put it all together.

Amazon is your friend. Type 12V USB outlets. The one I picked has two blue USB and one USB-C oulets as well as a continuous volt readout, all packed into a round surround. Comes with connectors (you may have to crimp larger ends to attach to the battery terminals and a fuse block with two spare fuses. All you would need to do is provide a small mounting plate.
We use them on an A-Liner camper to supply 12V power inside as well as give a visual indication of the charge on the trailer's battery.

wouldn't the options above slowly drain your 12V battery? I'd think you'd only want it charging when you are driving around.

Yes. I only want it to charge when driving like the other existing USB ports.

In that case add a relay between the fuse and USB device with the trigger activated from a circuit that is only on with ignition (or accessory).

If you have a power driver's seat, just take it off of the 12v feed to the seat. Then, you'll be working off of the ignition only.
