Hello all,

New to the forum as I just purchased my 2025 Ford Maverick XL AWD hybrid.

I have a question, as the manual is a bit confusing. I have a dash cam and would like it powered ON only when I am running the truck. The manual states the rear seat area USB C ports are “charge only / when the vehicle is in the accessory mode or the truck is running”. Despite that, the camera remains powered up and on even after shutting down the truck. Is there a means of changing that to “only when on” through the settings? I waited another 15 minutes and it remains powered on.

Thanks for any help,
Mike

From other topics the time limit is 75 minutes or if the battery gets too low. Can be changed in FORScan.

Alternatively, I believe there are contacts at the BCM under the passenger dash that are either constant power or only on with accessory/ignition.

And in my experience you can't rely on acc/ign-only connections to turn off either, at least not immediately. I have gotten to where I turn off my dashcam manually when I am back home because, if it does eventually turn off, it takes a long time (as in hours.) I am connected through the fuse panel under the glove compartment. I don't remember which fuse, but it's listed as ign/acc only.

I guess they are all on the same power source. Good to know.
Not on all the same source. Some are on the 75 minute timer and some are in the courtesy light delay timer adjustable in trucks settings. Some are on dash delay time and radio delay. Put a relay on a circuit that is turned off when drivers door is opened or some other event and break the connection for your tap you are using now.
ETA: The USB charge only in the back seat turns off, I believe with the key. You could plug a relay into it to control your 12-15.6(?) tap you are using now.
