Sure it 'might' reduce noise just a bit, but also might contain a hot pocket of air. I'm sure that's not an issue or they wouldn't have put the cover on ANY motors, but I live in southeast so it's more of a concern (compared to snow tires LOL).

Seems mostly cosmetic, I'm ok with bare engine but may change my mind if I ever get my Mav.....

Back in my day the engine cover was the hood and that's all we needed. We didn't need these additional millennial engine covers :D
That's the way it was and we liked it!

Back in the day engines were pretty to look at not so much today. Just a mess of wiring and lines.

Back in the day engines were pretty to look at not so much today. Just a mess of wiring and lines.
I don’t really plan on looking at the engine, it’s not that type of vehicle where you want show the engine bay.

There is something to be said about a clean-looking engine compartment though. The cover helps.

Went to the Woody car show on Saturday. Man those are cool rides with really great engines to look at.
