I would have loved it if there was a separate fuse. If there is something that's really that power intensive - you can use a fuse tap for the #3 or #5 as others have pointed out.

One of the main benefits from tapping the cigarette socket is the ease of use since there's both positive/negative leads AND it's fairly close to the screen cubby, dash, glove box, etc. It reduces the complexity to install "nice to haves" like USB chargers and switches.
On the downside that is on the up to 90 minutes or 12v soc dropping to 12.1 volts delay off circuit..... So potential for more 12v battery deep sleeping....
Needs to be on off when truck off circuit.

Yeah it comes out pretty easy there's just four plastic clips that hold it in you can use a towel on the HVAC control panel and gently get a plastic trim panel removal tool to get your fingers in there and pull that panel straight out towards you, it just snaps in and snaps out.

I tapped the 12 volt plug for my ambient lighting.

Looks like you removed the entire center console. The OP removed the lower section under the climate control knobs.

Yes, it was the easiest route to install my ambient lighting in the area of the front cubby below the HVAC controls the cup holder area and the rear of the console.

Would have been very difficult to do it with the console and the truck still.

Based on other studies/comments, it looks like the deep sleep happens the most due to voltage drop when the truck is first entered/turned on. Based on personal experience, once the battery has started to die, the deep sleep will happen more often passively since the actual battery capacity diminishes each time the voltage drops too low.

Once the battery drain issue is fixed and new battery installed, you shouldn't need to be concerned. I also confirmed via OBD2 that the HV battery continues to power the LV (12v) battery after the truck is "turned off" for some time. Usually until the driver door is opened or another timeout function occurs.
