I wanted something that fit in the cigar lighter socket, charged well, and would fit flush or as close to flush with the socket as I could get it to fit. I found one that does the job, and has 2 USBC ports, a blue colored status light, and a small chrome handle to be able to easily remove it. The XLT has a lighter socket with a cover, but I dont smoke. I would rather use it for additional charging ports. The bonus is the cover will close over the top of it.
I will have to pull it back out read the side, and post the amps on this, however running pandora on my phone in the car, this thing didnt just keep the phone at the charge level it was at, it was able to charge it at roughly the rate of 1% per minute. I realize phones are all different. Mine is a Samsung Galaxy Note 8. The only drawback to this one that I can see is having to purchase a Male-Male USBC cord to use it.
You can see it next to the over sized auto parts store cheapie in the pix. The price was reasonable off of evilbay at a low price of about $6-$8. The fact that I own several vehicles, It's not worth moving it from vehicle to vehicle, and is more convenient for me to just keep one with a cord in each. I will likely buy several more of these. I need one for my old Chevy pickup, my Mustang GT, and for both Barracudas.
Hope this helps
