How do I see if my hybrid 2024 maverick XL has grill shudders and check if they work.
They all have them. If they don't work, they will either never open, or never shut when the vehicle is on. They should in theory be closed on a cold start until the engine (ICE) reaches operating temperature. According the manual they should always open when driving at freeway speeds (55MPH or higher).

Sometimes when the elector motor is on you can hear them shut.

good deal, I get ya point. there's some looking for something to be wrong, so i misjudged, my bad. we're pretty close in stage of life. I haven't had 75 vehicles but I've had a very similar assortment as you. a recent favorite was the 2011 5.0 gt mustang - tons of fun.
Thank you for standing up and acknowledging your comments weren't warranted. Mustangs are
fun, and I've enjoyed all 12 I've owned going back to my first new one a 1989 GT. All were GT's, and
or 2 Cobra Mustangs, and 1 Saleen. All new. All fun to modify...mostly exhaust and some lowering
for my "play time" with them. Most were 5-speed manuals, but, I did have a couple autos.

If I don’t have issues I don’t worry about the components that could cause issues if I wanted to see the shutters work I’d mount a GoPro Camera and drive around then view the footage

My 23 hybrid is missing one from the top set and one from the bottom. Kind of defeats the purpose of warming up the engine.

This was done to mitigate the engine fire recall on the 2.5L ICE on 22 and many 23 Hybrids. Even if your vehicle wasn’t part of the recall Ford likely shipped most of them that way, since they expanded the range of the recall several times.

I'd be very curious on problems with the shutters that got into disabling or removing them as a solution.

There was a potential problem with range of hybrids, that to mitigate the effects 2 pairs of shutters were removed to keep enough air flow thru the engine bay.

Ford must have thought it was a good idea because it sounds like they kept producing them that way long after the problem range was gone.

Be curious if your 26MY shows the bottom 2 shutters gone on the upper and lower areas.
My '26 Lobo does not have any shutters "gone." Complete coverage both upper and
lower areas. So far, I do like them in this colder weather allowing that 4 cyl to warm up
faster. Doesn't take too long to have some heat flowing.

The HVAC system has an integrated electrical heater. Helps the cabin warm up quickly while the engine heats up. Really nice feature from Ford.

Sure wish I enjoyed the "quickly" part of it.

And yes- hitting all the requirements - ICE running, temp on HI, below 55 F, ect.
There is no bit of heat on fan speed 1 until the gauge hits 120 F - and that ain't much heat even then.
I've watched the 3 ceramic heaters be enabled - still couldn't feel them.

You bring up a good point. Looks like the logic on the hybrid is different...
