Hi friends, we about to order a new 2024 Maverick XLT, AWD, tow package, XLT luxury package and the 360 Safety option package. Do you have any advice for us in this purchase? We will have to add a tonaeu cover and also thinking about an extended warranty from Flood Ford. Advice for a new owner?

Congratulations on choosing the Maverick. I just received mine yesterday after ordering on July 19, 23. I bought the Lariat hybrid. I also added the tonneau cover. I also added the warranty through Ford for 5 yr./100k miles. I added the 5 yr. ceramic coating and interior protection. It was about the same as having some guy do it in town. Not cheap but the truck feels like silk.
I paid more than I wanted but I could not be happier. I drove to work (46 miles each way) and it's an amazing, relaxing drive. I actually received the upgraded tonneau cover from what I ordered.
Make sure to look for some of the threads on here about the Ford X-plan. Look into if your dealer accepts x-plans. It basically gets rid of any extra dealer charges. You can see if you belong to any groups, ect. that qualify. I joined the Mustang club of America for $35. I saved $450. Biggest help I received from this group. If you like customizing then this is also the truck for you.
I would compare prices and features between the Lariat and the XLT with lux package. It may make more sense to go up to the Lariat. The interiors are different as well. I hope this helps.

Are you used to a push to start button? I never realized how much I would miss it, having had it on 2 previous cars, and immediately regretted getting the XLT. I ordered a Lariat as soon as the next order window opened.

I think you did well in your choices.
I have had ESP extended warranties on several Fords in the past. I never used them, because nothing ever went wrong. I have not bought an ESP plan for any of my Mavericks because I don't think it will be necessary. If they become problematic, you can buy the ESP coverage later, at a slightly higher price. Yes I am a Ford fan boy based on decades of good experiences.
I hope your truck is built soon so you can enjoy these remarkable vehicles.

A lot of people aren't going to like this statement, but if you're not looking at a hybrid, buy the Hyundai instead. The wait time is just-plain stupid, and the Hyundai has a better interior, a better towing and weight rating, and looks pretty nice. Its a little bit more money though. Many (most?) of the Ford dealers are just plain incompetent, and need to be trash-binned. The Santa Cruz also has a lot fewer recalls, get similar mileage and has some really nice features like a built-in rollup tonneau and other things like adaptive cruise that you can only get on the highest price Maverick Lariat model. At this point the only reason to order a Maverick is the hybrid, as its the only player in this space that's got that and its at least a year wait due to the incompetence in the supplychain management. By late next year, the Toyota and Ram small trucks will be in the space, giving you more choices.

We haven't ordered it yet
We will next week. We intend to keep it for maybe 5 to 7 years? That's why we are thinking about the warranty. These days, everything costs SO much...just don't know?

You don't have to buy an extended service plan right away. A Maverick comes with a 3 year, 36,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty at no extra charge.

If you do buy an ESP I recommend to only purchase a Ford ESP and not a third party plan. Many of the aftermarket plans are garbage and a waste of money.

A possibly better alternative to the x plan is the farm bureau discount. You can join an Illinois chapter (I joined Cook County) for $20. The farm bureau discount is $500 off. And, no, it doesn’t matter that you don’t live in Illinois, it’s just that their state’s farm bureau memberships are cheap. My PA one would have been $100. The only rule on Getting the discount is that you must be a member for 30 days before the delivery of your truck which should be no problem for a new order.

I would recomend you add the FX4 package if you in fact will be using the AWD much. I have the Tremor which is great and I love it but it's gotten a little pricey from back when I ordered mine. The FX4 only adds about $800 and the underneath skid plates are well worth it.

Good information! Also, current and retired military $500 discount. You can sign up for the military discount through ID Me. I'm going to use the FB today when I pick up my Maverick. The Farm Bureau discount is easier.

Make sure you do your research on your dealer. I used Northgate Ford in Cincinnati to buy my '22 and '24 Mavericks. Things went well both times. Somewhere on this Forum is a Good Dealer/Bad Dealer list.
