Thank you for saying this! I've said it on this forum many times, but honestly I think a lot of people wayyyy overthink the entire HVAC system on this vehicle. I like to say that it should be treated as a house thermostat: set whatever temp you want, put it in auto, and let it do the work. Auto HVAC in cars going back to the 90s have all functioned exactly the same way.

And it's amazing how many people overthink this system. I have a friend who drives an escape, and refuses to use the auto. I've tried reasoning with him, and he's spooked by the whole issue. Thanks for the support!

In my 22, if I don’t want the AC to automatically come on i set to to the fan setting to only blow into the front seats. AC doesn't turn on by itself in that setting, but I usually don’t bother, I just tap if off. My other cars with automatic climate control (not Fords) did the same thing, kind of annoying, but you get used to it.

First thing I did in the Mav was kill full auto fan speed too, cannot stand the noise from any setting over 3 bars.

Well set it at one bar, and it won't be as annoying.
