10000 miles same systems return…take to dealer they keep vehicle do as ford says to do…called to pick up ford had them update computer…some systems went away. Most remain difficult to even drive the vehicle after what happened…my concern it will happen again…first failure I was driving 45 in traffic coming to a stoplight no warning till I touched the braked then everything lit up…there is a problem with my brakes…ford needs to find and fix the issue..I don’t blame dealer they can only do what ford will allow…

Likely an intermittent problem with the ABS module. There have been software updates for that system, it is possible it could fix the problem.

Well - grabby brakes, or warning lights turn on as you are braking, as your 1st post described?

That can be 2 very different situations and reasons.

And yes - wet brakes is a known effect of the fact your soft brake press doesn't engage the pads - so there is no pre-wipe effect of water off the rotors until the pads are brought in more.

They can also feel grabby if not used to the switch between regen to some pad being engaged even normally, and you happen to press just the right amount for the worst effect.

But I'd suggest don't confuse things by throwing that effect in with warning lights came on when brakes were pressed.
Unless that happens every single time.

Also - total brake failure - you didn't describe that.
Total brake failure means you had no brakes.
Don't exaggerate with dealer either - that won't help.

the dealer is told by ford the grabby brakes is a maverick issue…the brake failure was in mayblast year no issue for 1500 miles now grabby brakes again…not much the dealer can do if ford says this is a maverick thing…my issue is just before the brakes failed the brakes started grabbing…ford just seems to ignore there is a brake issue in mavericks…if this continues itvwill go down the road someone else can deal with it…i did report it to nhtsb…and reported fords lack of wanting to do anything about the continuing issue hoping it will go away…they can sell you policies but if they wont fix the problems what are they worth…there are some out there that have had serious accidents over this i got lucky and was able to get it stopped before i hit a house with the ebrake…

Very doubtful the grabby brakes was related to your other brake lites on issue - which now you say there were no brakes along with the lite?

You'll find threads on here about grabby brakes from the first models driven.
There was a software update to improve them somewhat, 23 or 24 came with the update already.

Still grabby under the right situations. And no related brake failures.
There have been brake failure posts - without the grabby brakes being seen.

Doesn't appear to be some inherent issue in a part or design - considering I'm sure there are plenty of braking opportunities but not the level of failures if there was.

But perhaps your description isn't the same, though you use the same term and effect.
And you may have a buggy system that mimics a known effect - that will make it harder to track down - or figure out how to duplicate.
If it can't be duplicated by those trying to fix it - they can't fix something.

ford has a lot of brake issues in vehicles if you stick your head in the ground and dont put someone on fixing the issue one people will move away from products and move to other brands if attention isnt made to this issue that iscwhat inwill do…and yes grabby brakes in my case started about a month before the brakes failed …im not a new ford user ive had fords since the esrly 60s and i have hotrods with brakes i put on them that stop…i seldom drive the maverick any longer im weighing my game plan…but the reason imposted this to let others know there is an issue here and i have tried new mavericks and on some there are the same or worse issues than i have…
