They are equally as useful and it has precisely nothing to do with an arbitrary "low" tongue weight, but how much weight is removed from the front axle, which is a function of weight and the length of the lever arm. If our trucks had shorter wheelbase, it would have an even larger impact. Ford and many manufacturers use WDH on unibody vehicles, including those they've even recommended against the public using WDH (not the Maverick, there's no recommendation against wdh on a Maverick) because being a unibody is literally irrelevant. There's not a single additional "leverage force" of any concern imposed on the body than there is in a weight carrying configuration, unless the hitch is improperly configured by a moron attempting to lift the entire rear end off the ground - which does happen as there's unfortunately no shortage of people who are exceedingly stupid.

There are zero examples of unibody damage from properly equipped vehicles towing for this reason, it's mythology not reality. Anyone with even a basic understanding of physics would be able to acertain this.
All that said, I won't refute.

But towing near maximum with my Maverick without WDH leaves nothing else desirable for me. I don't view it as needing any improvement.

Sounds like a good plan. Just know that the western states do put in runaway truck exits should the unfortunate need arise from the tail wagging the dog. A number of the unsuspecting that are unfamiliar with the steep declines out west have that happen to them.
Colorado has runaway truck on exits many of the routes I've travelled in the mountains out there.

Absolutely, you can achieve the exact same margin of safety that a WDH provides by slowing down an additional 20% to account for the decreased front end traction, more than one solution, and driving slower also improves other safety margins not explicitly related to that traction difference, too!

Meh. A "few". Like five. Maybe six. And not really for you and your RV.

Plus you won't need them.

An 80,000 lb. rig with relatively low air drag compared to your 8,000 lb. rig with relatively high air drag, like night and day.

When I am towing my Scamp (about 2900 pounds when fully loaded according to a CAT scale), I will drive 60-65 mph, depending on the cross winds.

Funny thing about the towing guide, Ford shows the Maverick pulling a Airstream 16' Bambi. Media packets show the Maverick pulling a Basecamp 16'. Both are over on the frontal area AND tongue weight. View attachment 218426

Exactly and from what I understand you take the dimensions of the trailer, not counting the space under the chassis- deduct a bit for the area blocked from the tailgate and come up with a number- Of course its up for speculation since Ford painted that pretty grey - So even if you don't deduct for the tailgate area- The trailer we pull is around 37 SQ FT front load - 6.6 High (Not including airspace under the trailer) 6.5 Wide-

Gonna be out there Nov-Dec. not worried in the least.Hexk these trucks have as much HP as a 77 Trans Am and could accelerate as much as I wanted up those "Tennessee Hills" as you quoted. You do you,I do me and good luck in your ventures!
Wondering if you could provide an update on your Nov. - Dec. adventure? For now I have a Livin Lite 8.1 pop up that pulls with ease but I'm interested in stepping up to something larger towards retirement.
