4G LTE wi-fi hotspot removal

I just got my window sticker and it says "4G LTE WI-FI Hotspot removal" with a $20 discount. I assume this was to have the option of having a wifi hotspot in the truck, which would be pretty cool in some situations. Anyone know the details of why this was removed?

I guess they thought most folks would just use their phone as a hot spot and it saved Ford money and chips. As with everything I'm sure it will be blamed on "supply chain issues "

I doubt the hot spot removal saved Ford any $$ in that fords percentage of the att&t hot spot data fees would forever disappear.

Yeah, I was disappointed they removed this, but between my phone, my wife's phone, and my cellular iPad I guess I really don't need an additional internet connection to pay for.

I'm a little confused about the Hotspot removal issue. My Window Sticker below (from 1/4/23) for my 2023 Lariat Lux does not mention it at all...no removal credit, nothing in the listing to say anything about having a Hotspot. I admit that I haven't really investigated in the menus to see if I actually have one or not, I've only had the truck for a month and have been busy adding other stuff.

I drive a 22 A51FE with the hotspot and it’s a game changer. Turns the mav into a mobile office / media center. Have used it so many times on road trips and in many places it gets better reception than my phone! Sad to see ford can’t get the parts.

Glad I got it, and use it every time I drive. Only thing i was was that it wasnt ATT cause their service is TRASH. Verizon would be worth the money more-so.

It doesn't remove the 4G modem (the telematics module), just the capability to act as a router.

Chatted with Ford today about another order...the lady verified that my 2023 Window Sticker is very odd, in that there is no wifi DELETE, with the -$20 notation...nor does it list it as being there anywhere. I do not seem to have it in the truck, a Lariat Hybrid Lux, or at least I cannot find it.

That is what I, and the chat agent, would have expected to see on my WS from 01/2023. It isn't mentioned at all on the WS (see previous post).
