In September 2022 I ordered the Ford Maverick lariat luxury package with the co-pilot 360 in the short time the order banks were open. In the Spring of 2023 I was called back to the dealership, Allan Vigil Ford, and was told I had to reorder it since it will be the 2023 Maverick. My salesperson ordered the exact same truck but the 2023 version. Imagine my disappointment when earlier this week when I finally received my new truck that the build left out a lot of things that were included in the 2022 package. Apparently Ford required that you had to specifically request for it in the 2023 package. Apparently it's now called the co-pilot 360 Assist but my salesperson said he was not informed of that. The Salesperson said Ford didn't tell him and he assumed he was ordering the same vehicle. Neither Ford customer service / Ford marketing nor the dealership said they could do anything about it. They're putting the blame on me. Has anyone else had a similar issue? Is there anything that can be done?

Many have. Pays to do your due diligence. It was covered at length on here. ALWAYS read the order guide for the new model year. Things always change.

Nope. Sorry to hear you’re not satisfied with your new truck but the packages and options often get adjusted to streamline production from one year to the next.

Your dealer lied, they were informed. You trusted him 🤷‍♂️ had you done a little research you would have caught it.
trust but verify

Dealerships get messages notifying them of changes like this. Sadly, many of them don't even try to keep up with them. CP360 Assist requires adding CP360. If your dealer only ordered CP360, your order doesn't have everything you initially asked for on your original order.

The buyer shouldn't have to double-check changes between model years. But the reality is, they do, if they want to make damned sure everything they want is still even available, and if so, which package(s) are required to get them.

Yes packages and features change every year. Ford's materials online were accurate but you had to look closely at the details. When I ordered my 2023 I'm sure I knew more than anyone in the sales department. I just handed them a spreadsheet from this site with what I wanted. I also had to tell them when the order window was opening as they had not read the dealer notice that was posted on here.

Thanks. Is there anything I can do? Anything except for, "next time you should..."

Your salesperson absolutely SHOULD have known. It was sent out by Ford numerous times and discussed at length here, on Facebook, on other forums and on many Youtube videos. If your salesperson had his/her head in the sand and ignored all of the emails and bulletins from Ford that's on them. Definitely not on Ford.

I really doubt there is anything you can do at this point. But I personally would make it clear to the salesperson and the sales manager that this is their fault for not doing their jobs by even bothering to read the material Ford sends out. Kinda tells me what sort of dealership this.

Check with the dealer but I would expect even if it is possible it would be expensive to add the modules and sensors after the fact.

Plus you might want the Assist package and that would include more hardware.

Ford Co-Pilot360TM Assist Package • Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop-and-Go and lane Centering • Evasive Steering Assist • Rear Parking Sensors

Perhaps you can make your dealer feel guilty too. Get them to order you a new one and give it to you at cost, providing you allow them to get your currrent Maverick in trade so they can mark it up. Maybe wishful thinking, but worth a try.

Ask your salesman if he knows the difference between Otto Cycle and Atkinson
Cycle. Ask him which one is the 2 stroke (NEITHER). Ask him to describe, in detail, how the eCVT transmission works. I'll bet he won't be able to answer any of those questions.
Salesmen are there to take orders and fill out paperwork. Last week, he sold adult diapers. Next week, he'll be selling yogurt.
When I ordered my '23 on Sept 16 of last year, the dealership didn't even have a 2023 option sheet, so I showed them the one I had downloaded from this site.

Depend on them for NOTHING.

Thanks slingshot. I agree. I just don't know what I can do now. I'm probably going to sell this Maverick and order the 2024 and make sure that I know more than the sales person

It's easy for 24. A Lariat gets you everything.
