You can add runtime with the Ford pass app.

I have a 2024 EB Lariat. When I’m finished driving I press the engine start/stop button, the engine stops period.
If I stop and park with the engine running and remain in the vehicle, 28-29 minutes later the cluster screen will display a message that the engine is about to shut down. If I want the engine to keep running I depress the accelerator. The 30 min. Max idle box is checked so everything works as it should. If it were unchecked then the engine would stay on until it ran out of fuel.

Right, but I think @Mav007 wants to find a way to permanently remove the max idle without needing to either uncheck the box every time they start the vehicle, or be in the vehicle when the warning pops up. Real world example of why this would be desired. Using the vehicle as a generator for backup power. If you want to run the engine for hours at a time at idle with an inverter hooked to it, no fun to need to go out every 30 minutes to restart the truck. Although the reserve capacity of the 12v battery should allow for a little bit of slop during the "off times".

@Mav007 , post this question in the ForScan sub forum on here. I would also love to find a way to disable this.

So are you saying that if the engine is started and then Max Idle is unchecked followed by disembarking from the truck the engine will still turn off at 30 minutes?

Here's an example of why I think there should be no time limit or a longer time limit. My wife and I like going to the drive in with this setup. Unfortunately every 30 minutes I got to climb out of the bed and turn the truck back on.

Why do you need the truck running at the drive in especially sitting in the bed? Running something from the 120 outlet?

I not 100% certain but I believe most drive in movie theaters use fm radio to transmit sound to each vehicle. That means every 30 minutes you would need to restart the truck to hear the movie.

IMO a cheap battery powered portable fm radio might make more sense for this type of application.

The one I went to had speakers you could clip on somewhere(admittedly pretty crappy quality)or the radio option. But still they are in the bed with a non opening rear window. I do like your portable radio idea though.

Acc mode plays the radio - no need for truck to be running or even On mode.

Well, at least the engine with fumes would only be on infrequently, to enjoy the effects in the bed.

This is weird.
Maybe you need a key.

In my 2022 XLT it stays on for as long as I keep the key in it. I've done it for 4 hours.

I didn't check any boxes nor see any boxes to check.

Maybe it's "Lariat Only". 🤷🏻‍♂️
24MY XLT hybrid - also sat for over 30 min with truck running (not much longer but over 30) and AC on.
Also never got a warning, no auto-turn off, ect. Engine turned on a few times in there.

I thought the setting was for when auto-started anyway.

Our drive-in uses a FM station that I've had trouble picking up with a stand alone radio, that's why I was using the truck radio. Plus the sound is much better coming from the B & O system. I tried the Acc mode but that shut off also. I forgot to mention I have a hybrid.
