Where I live, traffic enforcement is pretty minimal. I'd be shocked, absolutely shocked if I was pulled over in a brand new vehicle for expired temporary tags and expired tags alone.

I don't advocate law breaking but if I had somewhere important to be... I'd drive the truck.

why are people acting like a TEMPORARY tag is the Holy Grail? You're supposed to go complete your registration and pay all your taxes and fees ASAP, not drive around carefree and wait until the last second possible before paying the state...

Now if Granger didn't provide all necessary paperwork to complete your sale and state registration that's different.

You can use the plates from your previous car and transfer them to the Maverick. The bigger issue is that you are going to be past 30 days without paying the taxes and registering the new vehicle. The DMV is likely to frown upon that.

I think because different states operate differently. My son had temp plates for 9 months during the pandi.......So, getting plates right now can be a PIA depending on where you order from and where you live.

I will find out in 3 weeks when I get my truck from Chapman for use back in Texas.

If you are looking for an alternative solution to the dealer (not advocating this is a good decision)...

Pa does provide/allow online dmv services.

https://www.dmv.pa.gov/Information-Centers/Business-Partner/Pages/Authorized-Agents-Messengers.aspx

Agent Service

An authorized agent of PennDOT to complete titling and registration applications, as well as issue temporary registration to Pennsylvania residents or in-transit registration plates to out of state residents who purchase a vehicle in Pennsylvania. Some agent services are online with PennDOT.

YMMV.

don’t you think your thread title is a tad dramatic? It’s not a lawn ornament, and good lord it’s just tags. Others at least have actual reasons to be livid and have had an actual 30k lawn ornament.
OK,, so,, under Fla law, which the OP states, and others back up, says you cant drive your new truck till the temp tag is legal and dated, what would you do if it was your truck? Lets say it's your only vehicle? And you relied on this "ornament" to live your life?? And you paid out the money for the truck? What name, other than ornament would you call it? Why do some feel the necessity to turn the victim of this senseless bullshit into the bad guy, telling him he's at fault?

I know posting in anger is not the best thing but at this point I have no idea what else I can do.

I placed my order through Chapman and they were super cool throughout the order process. Since I picked up the Maverick 2/26 it has been a real hassle with the registration. I was not sent a temp tag by them so I got one from the dealer here. Florida temp tags are only 30 days, but that should be plenty of time to get the title here and have the vehicle registered. Two weeks ago I heard nothing from the DMV so I reached out. The state showed the title still had not arrived so I reached out to sales. They said if I didn't have it by 3/24 to let them know and I would be overnighted a PA temp tag, good for 60 days.

Not one to wait until the last minute I emailed this past Monday, 3/21, and explained to the sales rep that I hadn't got anything from the state and it still shows that they had not received the title. I didn't hear anything back so I emailed the GM. I then heard back from the sales rep that they were going to wait until Thursday to send it. Thursday an email comes and says "We are waiting for PAA to send us a brick of temp tags so that we can send you one. Hopefully, we get them today or tmrw so we can overnight it to you." Nothing came Friday. Nothing came Saturday, which was the last day my FL temp tag was valid. I am now stuck with a vehicle I cannot legally drive. This means I cannot drive to work. This means I cannot pick up my son from school or take him to his swimming lessons. This means I cannot drive my mother to the hospital and she's due to have heart surgery this week. This means I cannot operate a vehicle I just purchased.

I am hard pressed to buy that the dealer had absolutely no temp tags available because that would mean that they couldn't sell a vehicle for the last three days. They couldn't get one from any of the other three locations sent to me? They can't get the title to my state in 30 days? This is beyond ridiculous and I am at a loss for what to do next.

I paid all applicable fees when it purchased my vehicles, live in Florida and always buy from 5 Star in Georgia. When it did not have title in 30 days Florida DMA provided additional temp tag.

Not a lot of solutions here for you, hope you get things fixed. That being said, hit up your local newspaper and state rep, start rattling cages and making noise. Dealership will start moving if they start appearing in the news and when politicians start poking their heads in.

A. Why’s it on the lawn?
B. I didn’t say I didn’t understand him being upset, I get it, but if it’s my only vehicle I’m going to dmv and handling it asap or I’m going about my life and making sure I take documentation with me to explain the situation IF I get pulled over.
I get being livid over it not running, but there’s nothing wrong with the vehicle, just red tape, so to speak. Again, just get the thread title was a tad dramatic. I clicked on figuring ford screwed up, not a delay in paperwork (where the truck can be moved, you know, off the “lawn”)

How were you checking the Florida DMV for the title? Phone number or website? Thanks
Via the website.

Now to everyone advocating to just drive the truck, are you going to pay the tickets? If it goes past a week will you pay for my lawyer and court costs? Not only are there more cops out here than ants due to a major road project but going to my office takes me past the largest building with the most police in the county outside of a busy day at the jail or a Krispy Kreme grand opening. It would be a seriously bad decision.

The problem with the paperwork is I have none. They didn't send back copies for me so I have nothing I can present.

In Washington State, your 12 month expiration date is 12 months from date of purchase, not from registration or titling. So here you are paying the whole time you're on a temporary tag.

I purchased December 17, 2021, and didn't have a license plate and registration until March 21st. More than 3 months after purchase. But my first year registration expires December 17, 2022.
