Not to laugh at your situation, but I would be totally shocked if a LEO pulls you over and gives you a ticket for that. If you get pulled over for it, just explain what happened and say due to covid things are backed up at the dmv.

Just hound them and blow up their emails. Tell them your situation about your family issues and work that you need your vehicle.Via the website.
Now to everyone advocating to just drive the truck, are you going to pay the tickets? If it goes past a week will you pay for my lawyer and court costs? Not only are there more cops out here than ants due to a major road project but going to my office takes me past the largest building with the most police in the county outside of a busy day at the jail or a Krispy Kreme grand opening. It would be a seriously bad decision.
The problem with the paperwork is I have none. They didn't send back copies for me so I have nothing I can present.
If I was in your shoes I would drive it. There is no way I would pay your legal costs but I'd have no problem paying for my own if I was behind the wheel.Via the website.

Plus if he gets into an accident the insurance company will have denied the claim because "legally" it is an unregistered vehicle. This is a tough spot for him, hopefully he gets it resolved quickly.Yes, it absolutely does mean it is illegal to drive in Florida.. Per Florida State Statute 320.131 (l)(3): "Using a temporary tag that has been expired for a period of 7 days or less is a noncriminal infraction, and is a nonmoving violation punishable as provided for in chapter 318." More than 7 days and it is a criminal violation with a mandatory court appearance. Thanks, but I'd rather not aim for a misdemeanor because they haven't done what they should.
Even when the DMV was in a major slowdown due to the 'rona the police would issue you a ticket if you didn't have valid registration, your fault or not.
Agreed, too dramatic over a darn tag that can be obtained by going to his local DMV office. Oh, the calamity!don’t you think your thread title is a tad dramatic? It’s not a lawn ornament, and good lord it’s just tags. Others at least have actual reasons to be livid and have had an actual 30k lawn ornament.
