[/QUOT 2 & e3 are definitely part of the appeal for me!
I agree with #3 still goes back to Ford making it affordable for the masses1. No interior color options for each trim

I agree, it's not really that these things cost too much to add in on even entry level vehicles these days, it's just that something like keyless entry and ignition requires more microchips vs a model with keyed ignition. I'm willing to bet that Ford could easily substitute keyless ignition as standard on XLT and Lariat trims regardless of lux package or not but they can't because of shortages.Wait a couple years.
I think it has more to do with the microchips involved in implementing these systems than the cost.Push to start has to be cheaper to build than a key-operated ignition switch. My cheap 2011 Mitsubishi had push to start and true keyless entry.
It's not a deal breaker but honestly, it's absolutely worth it. Keyless entry and ignition where you never have to take your key out of your pocket is the greatest thing, especially if you have a busy life, kids, groceries, etc.Push to Start is the silliest "deal breaker" to me when people say they can't buy a vehicle because it doesn't have it.
Not referring to anyone in this thread, just speaking in general.
Is not fidgeting with a key that you have to keep nearby anyways really worth that much value to potential shoppers???
Wild.
I totally understand the convenience, I just... Idk. It just doesn't make me feel one way or another if I don't have it.
