Been Working the summer season in Utah, took both keys to my 2025 Lariat Hybrid with me, I only used one key for the 5 months. I got home yesterday and tried to use the other key and got a no key detected message. Seems strange that it can deprogram itself. Is there a system or sequence I can do myself?

Likely bad battery, also possible that its a bad key or the RFID just lost its programming. It can happen, although its rare.

Unfortunately you need both keys working to program new ones. If you only have 1 that works, you'll need to go to the dealership to have the second one fixed.

It's possible that just the battery contacts need a little "polishing" after several months on non-movement of the fob. But, the battery could fail in that time too.

Put it in the backup slot & see if it works

Was this new to you truck?

Both fobs OEM, look the same?

As commented above - some discover cheap aftermarket fobs can have problems - won't transmit the correct transponder code to the truck, or not transmit at all.
So when truck looks up in it's table the code - not there.
Or it never saw anything.

Using it in backup slot will prove out if good code still seen on fob and a transmit problem.
Or circuit board cracked or such and code no good, wireless may still work.

Either way - same solution - dealer.
Confirm they remove the bad fob from the record so you still have 2 free slots.
