I am absolutely NOT a fan of the blue plastic interior. I am somewhat surprised that I have not seen any threads here where people started down the path of an interior color change. There are some very good quality paints/dyes these days (that you will NOT find at Wal-Mart). I used SEM Color Coat in my UTE on plastic with great results, but I admit it's on interior sunroof trim plastics that don't see a lot of contact or risk or scratching/scuffing. I don't mean to thread-jack from the OP but if anyone has strongly considered this or started down this route, a different thread on this topic would be worthwhile.
I googled dying plastics and found something that may work. Article said use cleaning solution for PVC pipe and add a petroleum oil dye. It comes in different colors. The cleaner allows the dye to penetrate the plastic. I would experiment on a hidden piece of the plastic to make sure it would not damage the plastic. Problem with the SEM it covers the surface and will eventually wear or scratch off. I had it put on my brown AMC Javelin cloth and vinyl seats. Cloth was stiff and the vinyl did wear through some.

Driving black cars for 30 years, when I seen the interior of the maverick I said it's not going to match the black so I got the carbonized grey and matches great.
Good point. I have the Lariat BAP with Alto Blue paint and I think it looks great. This interior is going to look best with blue or grey exteriors.

I have done it on other vehicles with great success. I'm going to have to see how much blue my XL has, and how much it bothers me. I go to an automotive paint shop and have them mix the color I need.
Before you go the SEM route google dying PVC pipe. The article said adding petroleum based dye to PVC pipe cleaning solution to stain plastic. The PVC cleaner will allow the dye to penetrate the surface. I would try it on the back side of a panel or a unexposed piece of the plastic making sure it will not damage it. If it works and looks good then do the rest. I believe you can buy the dye on Amazon. It comes in different colors.

I use interior paint from an automotive paint store, not the rattle canned stuff. Not sure I will do the Maverick though, as it is just a cheap commuter.

So my '23 blacked out mav arrived saturday. Never got to even get in one before then. So why is my "all black" mav outfitted with some gross blueish ugly interior? Is that all they offer? I mean it looks horrible inside :(
Could find some upscale black seat covers maybe? I'm getting heated ones since I only ordered XL trim to protect my interior cushions anyways. Just a thought.

Some of us are either married or are reasonable enough to understand that unless you got HPR, the brown pleather and it’s accents are pretty gross too. There’s also us that can see where Ford cut cost to build such a reasonably priced vehicle.

for those curious, if you swap the orange console tray for a black one, the orange blends really well.

dude, that is a HUGE upgrade to me. That bright orange console was a huge turn off for me. A deal-breaker, but that helps mitigate it A LOT. Good idea

i agree about the XLT interior being the worst-looking (stock). i also don’t like the stock brown interior of the Lariat. XL, BAP or Tremor stock interiors are my favorite.

I was kind of using hyperbole about picking up a date with the Maverick, but my point is the bright-orange pieces really cheapen the look of the truck unnecessarily--which is a shame because I feel like they did a good job with the interior for the price. The XL interior is way more subtle and sleek. The orange makes it look like a toy.

The tray change seriously changes the look of the interior and was worth every Penny I spent on it. I don’t really notice the orange anymore. Also I weighed the rims vs steelies vs the XL interior and decided I wanted the rims more than I cared about the interior as I had a feeling I could mask the orange or at least calm it down

Get the black trays. Promise it’s a game changer. I don’t disagree though but I don’t even notice the orange anymore now that the orange tray is gone

Also, the red coasters, red maverick lettering and the red ford ovals have almost completely eliminated the orange. Especially on the CG that I have. Huge Ohio State fan so it actually looks really good

Howdy, when I go to the Ford site and build a Lariat with BAP I see this picture with lots of blue.. Console, lower dash/glove box door, all seat bases, etc.. Perhaps you landed on the wrong picture??

You can click the pic to enlarge.

It's interesting... The Lariat photos are much more honest than the XLT photos now. Compare your circled items from Lariat w/ BAP and look at the same renderings from XLT w/ BAP. Very inconsistent in the representations.

My wife was looking at my desktop and asked to see the stock Lariat again... Her gut feel was, 'okay I don't mind the brown, but I dislike the blue tone of the vinyl used in the seats, armrests... It's allot of an unattractive blue...' And I agree with her... it's just too much 'navy pier' everywhere.

But then her next comment, "$1695 is halfway to the purchase of the ARE MX topper"...

So, man.. I'm really up in the air over the BAP. I do have a question for Maverick Larait owners with and without BAP.

Those without BAP, the standard Lariat interior, are the door panels and dash as light as those on the XLTs? Or are they somewhere between the XL and XLT in color?

For those who have the BAP, are the Vinyl armrest on the doors Black/Grey in color or still Navy Pier. I know on XLT they stayed Navy Pier, but I don't know if they went a bit further on the Lariat and transfered the Vinyl (ActiveX?) of the seats and console armrest over to the door armrests.

Just doing additional research... :)

Nope, Black is an option. Its even in the configurator.
SAME EXACT wording used when I configured my 23 with BAP - the blue accents (aka plastic parts) are there. Ford is basically talking about the cloth portions only. When I ordered mine, the computer generated pics of the interior, showed all black -it is NOT!

I have the 2022 Lariat with the desert brown and navy blue trim. I know it's different but I'm ok with it. Maybe let it grow on you, sometimes different can be good.

No one cares about your 30 year old Honda Civic. LOL

The OP wasn’t concerned enough to investigate at all what he was purchasing, he accepted the truck and took delivery, and now comes here to complain.

The 2024 Lariat BAP pics show a host of blue bits. If not certain, a prudent person would investigate..
