  • XL and Lariat no longer has an Ecoboost option
  • XLT AWD, Lobo, Tremor is the only trims with Ecoboost motor available
  • Lariat no longer comes standard with Luxury Package, $1595 option. Lariat now available as FWD HEV at $34,760 plus Destination
  • New Colors: Neptune Blue, Gladwin Green, Glacier Gray Tri-Coat
  • Deleted Colors: Azure Gray, Carbonized Gray, Space White
  • FX4 Package now included on XLT AWD Ecoboost
  • FX4 Package no longer requires XLT Luxury Package and no longer includes unique 18" wheel

That is super interesting that the XL & Lariat will be Hybrid only with no Ecoboost option. I didn't see that coming. I don't know what the take rate was for Hybrid vs Ecoboost but I would have think this would kind of hurt Maverick sales. This now makes me think the Maverick will eventually be Hybrid only like Toyota has done with the Camry & Rav4.

I wonder what Gladwin Green will look like, it seems to be a new color for Ford unless I missed it on another Ford vehicle in my quick Google search.

Also I'm curious what the Bronze Appearance package will look like, when I think of bronze I think cheap looking.

Interesting, are fleet trucks really mostly hybrid? That surprises me.

Lariat seems less attractive now if they are going to nickel and dime you.

Also what are these supposed unique 18" FX4 wheels being dropped? That seems like a mistake?

I do think the Maverick will be all Hybrid when the second gen comes out and will have a more powerful hybrid system.

They're not really nickel and diming in this case. The 2026 Lariat Hybrid starts at $38,090 but that includes AWD and the Lariat luxury package which were both mandatory. For 2027 Lariat's the Lariat Luxury package and AWD will now be an option so the starting price of the Lariat is now $34,760.
IIRC this is how it was with the 2022 Lariat and then they made the Lariat Luxury package mandatory for 2023 Lariat's.

Well if my 2024 gets totaled I guess Honda will be gaining a customer. Ford drove me away before with de-contenting and it looks like they want to do it again.
Problem is they can do whatever they want. There is zero competition for this vehicle, Ridgeline starts at 41k for a base model and gets awful mileage around town.

I was wondering if they would lower it with the removal of LUX and bedliner, but haven't seen the ordering guide. Have they confirmed this?

Edit: Doh, I missed it above, thanks Art Vandelay.

Ford might not be, but it lets dealers play more games to get more money out of you.

I figured they would wait for the next generation but good to see. I wonder what the new blue looks like. I prefer blue over the red I got.

I don't see how it's any different than any option on a vehicle like a sunroof or any package upgrade on any vehicle. I remember people complaining when the 2023 order guide was released that they didn't feel they should be forced to get the Lariat luxury package if they wanted a Lariat. Ford is really just giving more options here.

Looking at this poll from back in May. I'm surprised by Ford dropping the EcoBoost on the XL and the Lariat.
Internet forums aren't really the best place to gauge things like that as it's a very small number of owners and in most cases the forum users don't reflect overall customers. About 15 years ago I was on a Maxima forum when Nissan announced the manual transmission was no longer going to be offered on Maxima's. With the outcry on the forum you would have thought 99% of Maxima's sold were manual transmissions. But the reality was that the Maxima had for a long time had less than a 5% take rate for a manual transmission.

What we really need is to know what what the take rate was in previous years for XL & Lariat Hybrid's vs Ecoboosts. I don't think Ford releases those numbers.
