That will be a positive IF its actually true, the current specs Ive seen from ford on the MY25 2.0 don't show that, not to say their marketing docs are 100% fact. Lots of false stuff on internet, good or bad. Ive seen where the new mustang got an updated 2.3L that is both port and direct injected, but that engine is not in the new ranger which does not include the port injection, so engines are not the same currently across the board, no idea why not

The Lariat, Tremor, and Lobo are the only Mavs with the 360 Camera and the Ford Co-Pilot360 Assist 2.0.
It allowed me to add it to the quote, both both were available. I clicked on it and it showed the 360 camera was part of the package for the XLT trim with the Luxury Package and all the other stuff I added for her. I wonder if it bumped me up to a higher level (Lariat?). Anyways it capped out at 35k. I still think it stayed in the XLT model.

I like the idea of the 360 camera, Co-Pilot 2.0 and the Tow/Trailer assist. Bigger screen would be nice but the '24 Lariat I have now is the first screen I've had in a personal vehicle, and I think it's fine.
I have an FX4. You can't get FX4 on the '25 Lariat. That's a negative4 to me.
I've had my '24 since January. I drive all of my vehicles until they won't go any longer. Nothing could make me give up a new vehicle for a new vehicle.

well, okay but the engine still ALSO has direct injection.......we're not talking about the hybrid 2.5 here
But the port injectors are supposed to fix the main issue with direct injection - carbon buildup in the valves

It really comes down to if the '25 has anything you REALLY want or loathe. As you can see, opinions vary across the spectrum regarding the refresh Maverick. It's a bit of a cost benefit analysis. For example, I was interested in one day replacing my '20 Escape with a Maverick. After seeing what the refresh offers, I'm no longer interested because:
  • Bigger 13" Screen: after having the 8" in the Escape, my wife and I can't imagine trying to drive with bigger screens in the car. It's distracting and taxing on our eyes, especially when using the GPS at night. Funny enough, I don't even use the full screen for GPS.
  • No Physical A/C controls: I don't like auto and prefer to physically adjust my settings, especially here in Virginia where the weather is made up and the seasons don't matter.
  • Used Market Settling Down: With he market cooling, I have a better chance finding a low mileage vehicle with everything I need and nothing I don't want for cheaper than a new vehicle with a $5k mark down.
As much as I would enjoy having an AWD hybrid Maverick as my vehicle, those 3 negatives no longer make me Ford's target customer. I'm cool with that. I'll just have to wait and see what future compact trucks bring to the market (or what the midsize market will hold in the next year or two).

I'd love to have the bigger screen & Sync 4 but the HVAC controls buried in the headunit is a deal-killer for me.
Well - let's be realistic.

You have seen the buttons on the trim below the screen for 1 button access.

That isn't really buried in the head unit as some cars have you going thru menus to get to them.

Yes - but original quoted comment was about it making things simpler.

NoVa was just reminding/informing that it doesn't make it simpler since it's in addition to, not a replacement of.

Fair enough, but if the entire screen craps out, will I be able to determine what air (hot or cold) goes where (floor, windshield, etc)?

The only thing available on the XLT is Ford Co-Pilot360 1.0 which is the older system. The 360 camera and Ford Co-Pilot360 Assist 2.0 are standard equipment on the Lariat, Tremor, and Lobo so it's not even an option to select. Perhaps you were thinking about Ford Co-Pilot360 1.0 which is an option on the XLT but does not include a 360 camera.

Friends Ford with lighted buttons sorta close to Mavericks went out.
Can't see which one is pushed as light was only way.
Even I being unfamiliar with their car noises could immediately hear the normal differences between defrost, defrost/feet, head was obvious, head/feet, and feet.
They still had up/down buttons for heat/cool no dial - those lights worked - but if out, I'd imagine feeling the temp out of vents might give a clue.

I just see a huge difference between entering a screen menu system to get to Climate controls and dealing with anything at all - compared to physical buttons right there in front of you all the time.

Yes still a preference - but exagerration of the difference is only that.

Current fan and temp control already use the screen, backed up by lights on dial for some functions.

But what if the entire back lights on buttons went out....

My biggest concern with the 2025 is how well the new headlight designs will perform.
The pre 2025 LED headlight design performed quite well. Now that the 2025 XL/XLT headlights are smaller we will have to wait and see how they come out in the iihs testing. Also, the Lariat now comes with projector beam headlights so that will be a big difference. While projector beam headlights are brighter they have a narrower beam pattern that might take some time to get used to.

Huh? Many projectors have a much wider useful beam than reflector lamps. Halogen projectors were never the greatest, but HID and LED projectors more often than not have some of the widest beams out there. Of course the width also traditionally comes with larger projector housings, so we'll see what Ford's projector beam pattern actually looks like soon.

Unless you just mean a shorter, wider beam? Less glare above the cutoff.

I'm hoping for similar width but better throw with the lariat projectors.

I’ve been waiting for the 25 to come out to see the changes and so far I like what I see(minus the ugly front end). I have a 20 Escape that’s loaded but I’m really putting the miles on it because we do a lot of long distance driving. My plan is to trade in or outright sell my 15 Mustang GT that only has 40K miles on it and order the Lariat early next year. I do like the new interior of the 25 Lariat and the additional safety features are a big plus. Carvana offered me 23K for the Mustang so that’s a nice down payment on a new Maverick.
