Before I got my 2025 Maverick, I ordered a set Maxzina mud flaps which would cover the left rear wheel gap as others reported that it was still there. Turns out that Ford appears to have covered that gap so the mudflaps don’t fit properly. Does anyone else’s 2025 have the wheel gap covered now?

Turns out you're looking at where no gap ever existed....

Lots of us 2025ers have already covered the gap with mud flaps and Mabett cover. Your Mav is mass produced and definitely still has the gap.

Cheers.

Mabett mud flaps and bottom cover fit perfectly on my 25 XL and the gap was still there and needed covering.

The gap isn’t around the tire well; it’s directly straight down under the cubby door area behind the wheel well. It’s flat and parallel with the road surface.

Thanks all. As you all said, looks like I was looking for the gap in the wrong place. When I looked at the Maxzina mudflap picture on Amazon it looked like a big hole in the wheel well liner. I have added mud flaps now too so hopefully that will mitigate wheel spay up there. Appreciate the responses!

The gap between the rear tire and the cab is definitely still there and still storing dirt and mud for later use lol. I have the Mabett mud flaps and they don't cover it. That's because this gap is at the front of the wheel well, near the FoMoCo aeroflap. This is a 25 Maverick Tremor. Is there a replacement for the rear axle front aeroflap, that covers this hole, and I don't know about?

I purchased the Weathertech mud flaps and they cover this cap and fit perfectly.

I use the weathertech flaps as well but they don't cover the gap they just made it larger to try and stop mud and road spray from getting in it but the gap is still very much there behind the flap.

Mabbett's cover is the way to go.

Here is my Weathertech Mud flaps covering that gap on driver's side rear wheel. I think if that gap was closed in the mud & moisture would be trapped.

It’s not sealed. Plenty of opportunity for water and air to breathe and dry. Not covering it is a mistake.

Here's 24 showing the length of the fender liner is the same as 25.

Some mudflaps make the gap obvious compared to other side.

The cavity cover still isn't going to keep all the moisture out since holes are there closest to tire - but perhaps the better gap-filling mudflap will help.

Yeah definitely needs a combo effort.

I think people don't realize what the cavity/gap actually is. They think its just the little extra space you can observe from looking down into the wheel well.

When it's actually something you see laying on your back and looking up at it (like you've depicted over your cover).

Ya - Glen's got the good picture of what is getting covered up - very significant area for the kickup it's getting.

I need to get picture of other side to show what Ford wanted to cover there.
