Don't forget to consider the extra hybrid license fees that many states extort due to the fuel savings. In Ohio it is an extra 100.00 per year to be environmentally friendly. Nice incentive, right?
When I went to register my XLT hybrid in Ohio, I noticed they weren't assessing the $100 fee. So I registered for the max length of time - 5 years.

Hi everyone,

I've been on the fence but finally ready to order a Maverick. Hoping for XLT AWD Hybrid but may settle for XLT FX4 eco boost AWD (need orange-free interior). I understand order banks and specs release August 1 and I have a few questions.

1. Is there an advantage to ordering August 1st vs later in the opening week?

2. I understand this is speculative, but what does the brain trust guess the wait/build time is for AWD Hybrid? I can be patient, just curious on everyone's thoughts.

3. Price increase. I'm having a hard time mathing my "line in the sand" price differential for AWD Hybrid vs AWD Ecoboost. I only drive about 5k per year but I love the idea of hybrid because I'm so cheap I often decline 1-2 hour day trips due to gas prices. (I drive a 13 mpg 1998 Dodge ram) So, please walk me through your thoughts on prices for XLT AWD Hybrid. How much more would you pay for AWD hybrid, and why? No right or wrong answer here I just want to hear other perspectives. Thanks!!
For reference, I have a 24 XLT FX4 LUX TOW and CoPilot and I am averaging 28 mpg. On the HWY in cruise at 70, I get 33 mpg round trip

I plan to keep it at least 10 years, maybe longer judging by my 1998 Ram.

Also I need to factor in wait time and uncertainty for the AWD Hybrid. Even if I order on August 1st, I'm sensing no guarantees that I actually see it delivered. The EB AWD seems more likely to happen. Just need new interior options for FX4!!

Also can you please explain dealer ADM? I'm planning to custom order and avoid the markup over MSRP.
I thought I missed something about AWD hybrid being announced.

Regardless, I have a hybrid and ecoboost. Depends on what you're using the truck for. Need to tow more, ecoboost. Just need a small truck for home depot runs and want great gas mileage, hybrid.

My ecoboost is AWD, I will say I enjoy the ride a little more

That fee covers the loss of gas taxes needed for highways.

Ahh, so you are the other person who likes the 2025 front, I knew there was one member here who liked it, so now that makes two.
The Lariat version of the new Front Facia looks better IMO. I think this is intentional to add another reason to go with the higher trim.

The difference in mileage I get driving the hybrid around town compared what Ford predicts is considerable, probably close to 10 mpg. I can routinely hit 50+ mpg on a tank of gas driving my 2023 Lariat hybrid in cooler weather.

I've also logged around 5,000 miles in Year One. If you do the math, that equates to 5,000 miles/10 mpg or around 500 gallons of gas. At $3-$4 per gallon, the fuel savings have been $1,500-2,000 already, easily justifying a $1,500 upcharge for the hybrid variant.

Nope. 5000 miles / 50mpg = 100 gallons of gas used. Let's say the Eco gets 30mpg, 5000 miles / 30mpg = 167 gallons used. Your difference is only 67 gallons, NOT 500, per year.

The Hybrid Maverick has had several more recalls, random loss of power before recalls, Axle problems, DC/DC converter problems, 12v battery/deep sleep problems/parasitic drain problems, etc. If you think this is worth getting 10 mpg better and saving $200 over the span of 10 years, you are coping and trying to justify your purchase. Maybe you won't run into these problems at all and maybe they will be fixed in the new model year (2025). Not to mention you can tow more in the ecoboost, the ecoboost has more power, the ecoboost has parts that can be replaced. If your hybrid motor or DC/DC converter goes bad, you will have to replace the entire thing. I personally don't like non serviceable (throw away) parts and relying on fords warranty. This is coming from someone who has previously owned and driven a Toyota highlander hybrid which was reliable and had 200k miles on it before selling it. Im not saying the hybrid is bad but it has definitely had more issues in comparison to the ecoboost... @Ozarkbeard @Ford Truck Guy @Waterick @huunvubu

So if it's JUST $250 per year savings in fuel, that will be a complete payback on a $1,500 investment in 30,000 miles driven. That is, a no-brainer.

There was actually no upcharge for the hybrid in 2023, and the 2024 Lariat I just ordered has no hybrid upcharge either. Even more of a no-brainer.

I only use my 2023 for light duty work and hauling, and it never gets off the pavement. I've had a flat tire in the first 5,000 miles, and I had to DIY upgrade to the most recent build in the SYNC 3 software (because I'm a little picky as far as the audio functionality.)

But that's it as far as issues with my 2023 Lariat hybrid. So far, one of the best vehicles I've owned. Looking forward to the 2024 model performing as well.

You've inspired me to do the calculation. Will take time to recoup cost but idk about decades unless we are figuring in extra hybrid maintenance (which I am honestly ignorant of so please educate me if I'm missing something).

I averaged the posted city and highway mpg. Hybrid 37.5 mpg and EB 25 mpg.

Hybrid: 5000 miles/37.5 mpg = 133.3 gallons per year. 133 gallons x $3 per gallon = $400 gas expense per year

EB: 5000 miles/25 mpg = 200 gallons per year. 200 gallons x $3 per gallon = $600 gas expense per year

$200 differential per year = 7.5 years to break even.

Please keep in mind that an all wheel drive Hybrid will not be getting the same mpg as the front wheel drive.

Well the '24 Lariat has AWD standard. If it's a hybrid there is no AWD so Ford gives a $750 credit instead of a $1500 up charge on the on the hybrid motor. The value of the AWD for '24 is $2250. Edit: AWD is already included in the price of a Lariat.
Who knows how the '25 Lariat AWD hybrid will be charged if it is offered?

I was given a "surprise" $750 ford incentive with my 2024 Lariat, which I had ordered in May and received last Monday.
