Do you even want to know that your current ride at 13 mpg is costing you about twice what you would be paying for the EB model?You've inspired me to do the calculation. Will take time to recoup cost but idk about decades unless we are figuring in extra hybrid maintenance (which I am honestly ignorant of so please educate me if I'm missing something).
I averaged the posted city and highway mpg. Hybrid 37.5 mpg and EB 25 mpg.
Hybrid: 5000 miles/37.5 mpg = 133.3 gallons per year. 133 gallons x $3 per gallon = $400 gas expense per year
EB: 5000 miles/25 mpg = 200 gallons per year. 200 gallons x $3 per gallon = $600 gas expense per year
$200 differential per year = 7.5 years to break even.
