I think I read this somewhere here. This to hopefully fix any issues that may arise in the production line and before they get moved out to us. I think I have that correct. May be a question to ask @fordvideoguy .Yep, plus they are going to hold each one built for up to 6 week's before shipping.
Farley said that they will hold refreshes for 5-6 weeks to make sure they are perfect when they roll them out.Yep, plus they are going to hold each one built for up to 6 week's before shipping.
I ordered a FWD too. Salesman seemed surprised, but I told him I didn't need it. Hardly tow anything. My 2022 FWD handles just fine in winter so why spend the extra $$.Got my email today too! Ordered 8/2 and confirmed by dealer 8/5. So excited! Been wanting one since they came out. XLT Luxury pkg, didn't go with AWD. Been driving FWD for 40 years, I'll manage.
I don't understand what 6 weeks does for Ford. Are they expecting to catch assembly workers errors? If they can't trust the workers, why should we and we shouldn't be buying at all. If there looking for design errors, how do they find them if we aren't driving?Farley said that they will hold refreshes for 5-6 weeks to make sure they are perfect when they roll them out.

In the Order ID #? Mine has neither of those.R = retail (customer ordered)
D = dealer stock order
They can catch flaws or issues that are found 100, 200, or even 500 cars of the line. If they are in their holding lots they can go back and fix them before leaving preventing numerous recalls. They did this for 2023 Super Duty, 2023 Escape, 2024 Ranger, and recently with 2025 Explorers. If you look at those vehicles there aren't any safety recalls. So a month, month and half wait or numerous trips back and forth to the dealership for recalls. They need to cut down on these recalls. Quality needs to be the focus.I don't understand what 6 weeks does for Ford. Are they expecting to catch assembly workers errors? This sounds like Ford is expecting more holes in top of gas tanks and hope they can figure it out or cover it up in six weeks. This seems sketchy, or marketing BS.
But, I ordered anyway.....![]()
If your vehicle was pulled from the finish line to disassemble and repair something before it left the factory, would they have to disclose that? I sure hope mine is built past the point where they do anything like this.They can catch flaws or issues that are found 100, 200, or even 500 cars of the line. No, because it would leave the factory perfect. So there's no reason for them to disclose anything. Every vehicle is inspected before it leaves.You'd be amazed at how many vehicles have to go back and be fixed or a part replaced.If your vehicle was pulled from the finish line to disassemble and repair something before it left the factory, would they have to disclose that?
