Trucks been amazing so far. Just today as I got out of work and started the truck it make some horrible noises. It felt like it kept trying to start really hard and over and over again and lotso vibration and spinning noise. I immediately powered off and waited to start it back up. Everything is normal but check engine light is on.

Checked with my OBD reader and got the code P0C79. Drive Motor ā€œAā€ Inverter Voltage Too High. Just shy of 7k miles on the clock.

What does this mean? Is it safe to drive? Yes I’ve setup an appointment via the Ford app. If you have any experience with this please let me know what went wrong and how it was fixed. I don’t like this bc the vehicle is new and I bought it outright. Also didn’t see this code for maverick on the internet.

Thanks in advance.

Yup. I may be the only one. Dealers didn’t see anything like this.

Left at the dealer fist thing today. They can’t figure it out. I was hoping to get it by noon. But they’ll have to keep it longer.

Basically went from just fine to not. Like I’ve mentioned after the ā€œincidentā€ it drives fine. Didn’t notice anything other that the little dreaded light.

Does your scanner allow grabbing the freeze frame data related to the DTC?
I know, too late now - but for future reference.

It could have been a single incident, and bad enough it throws the DTC on just one occurance.
Or it had to happen multiple times and system finally threw one, but then it went away and after enough time with normal readings the DTC would go away too. But that didn't happen yet.

Either way - I'm sure they are engaging Ford corp techs as to what they need to do next - I'm sure a bad lag time will be there, making this drag out.
Now it's a matter of can local tech do whatever is requested well enough.

Hope it's wiring issue, and not actually in the tranny requiring engine/tranny removal to crack it open.

Did you get a loaner or rental - for sure warranty work.

So dealer can’t figure it out. Truck has been there since Wednesday. šŸ¤¦ā€ā™‚ļø
I’d rather have answers than no answers. I don’t want this to happen while I’m driving or out of town and get really stuck. This is super disappointing.

Didn’t get a loaner or rental. Luckily I have a beater car. This dealer didn’t even have a shuttle. šŸ˜‘ but have no choice. Drove several hours to buy this truck to get the best price. But go to the nearest dealer for records.

Yes! Didn’t even think to do this. I keep this for my older vehicles I do maintenance on. Didn’t think I’d need to use it on my new vehicle anytime soon.

thanks all. I’ll update if anything changes.
