Because from time to time I do some light off-roading and we have snow here I decided to replace the tires for better puncture and side damage protection as well as traction.
I looked at many tires and many were tempting but at the end I choose the MasterTrack Badland ATX tires. I could have gone the the AT which have a design that I prefer but the MPG would had suffer. The ATX are 3peaks M+S tires. They are very quiet and the road hazard and mileage warranty from the manufacturer are good in addition I also bought Walmart road hazard warranty. I bought 235x65x17

I tried to load pictures several times but it never worked, any recommendation to load the pictures?

Update us on how they sound after 10,000 miles.
Great price.

My Yokohama Geolandar G015’s were still
Silent at 30,000 miles. Most AT’s howl like hell way before that.
My Geolandars were $147 each. Now they are $167

These tires add about one inch of ground clearance.
Your OEM 225/65-17 tires are 28.5" in diameter, for a radius of 14.25" . You new 235/65-17's are 29" in diameter, for a radius of 14.5". Unless you added a lift kit, the tires alone only raise the vehicle 1/4".

I wanted these tires but they do not come in 235 only 245. They are even less expensive.

I avoid chinese tires like the plague. You'll see a lot higher rate of defects and lower quality rubber used, typically, but I hope these work for you.

Tires are the only thing touching the ground, so it's kinda important to have a quality product.

You could have run the 245/65R17 but they would be tight on the stock rims. I'm running 255/50R20 on my Maverick in the summer and 235/75R17 in the winter. Yeah, mpg does suffer some. The Summit Trail Climber SUV² summer tires handle fantastic and are 700 treadwear rated. I don't yet know how the Hankook AT2 will perform in snow though they are three peak rated.

Some of the Chinese tires have improved a lot over the years, and are definitely as good or better than than bottom shelf tires from major brands (e.g. the Douglas tires sold by Goodyear @ Wal-Mart). I would put them on a cheap car that is just for driving around town that isn't going to be blasting down the interstate at 70+ MPH in rain, or snow / ice. Makes no sense to put crappy tires on an expensive vehicle, though.

BTW, I looked our of curiosity and the 3PMSF (mountain snowflake) rating is "pending testing"...literally anyone could state that, for any tire!

Didn't want to be the first to say it. But hope they work out good since some Chinese tires are gems. A lot of Linglongs (a real tire brand) and other crap to sort through though.

I ran Douglas tires on basic commuter cars for hundreds of thousands of miles. If your only qualifications are that the tires are new, relatively inexpensive, and have good enough grip and tread life considering the cost, they aren't bad. They definitely make a Honda Civic feel like a Buick Century though (AKA, numb road feel and mushy steering). They're made in the USA by Kelly Springfield, which is now a subsidiary of Goodyear. I'd trust them more than the Ironman RB-SUV tires that CarMax seems to buy by the truckload.

$167 for those tires is a steal in my opinion. Where’d you get them at that price? I had them on another car and thought they were fantastic

thanks!

I buy my tires at my Ford dealer in November only.
They always offer the infamous Black Friday sale. One of two ways.
Buy three get one free or a $150 rebate, that takes a month to come back and comes back Only as rewards points.
I use the rewards as free oil changes. I get two services for $10 bucks.
A full synthetic oil change and tire rotation is $79.
Times two equals $158 just over the $150
I’m cool with that.

AND my ford dealer tire prices are spot on competing with all the other tire dealers.
They carry several brands, Michelin, Yokohama, Faulkin, Goodyear, Cooper etc.
