1:1 the Douglas A/S tires are probably about the same as Chinese tires, and the same price now too, but I definitely give the advantage to the Douglas for being made in USA at least.I ran Douglas tires on basic commuter cars for hundreds of thousands of miles. If your only qualifications are that the tires are new, relatively inexpensive, and have good enough grip and tread life considering the cost, they aren't bad. They definitely make a Honda Civic feel like a Buick Century though (AKA, numb road feel and mushy steering). They're made in the USA by Kelly Springfield, which is now a subsidiary of Goodyear. I'd trust them more than the Ironman RB-SUV tires that CarMax seems to buy by the truckload.
My buddy that used to work at a local tire shop chain said the margins (7-8 years ago) were better on the $50 Chinese tires than name brand tires from ATD, so they didn't even discourage buyers from cheaping out. Nothing like seeing a 3 year old BMW X3 with Linglong Lions, lol.
