2024 Maverick Hybrid drastic drop in MPG after 32,000 miles

After having (2) MY24 Lariat 2.0 EB's, both AWD/4WD, with the 2nd being a Tremor, I've often wondered if the 1" higher profile, and the wide-open lower bumper, are the major contributing factors to a 4-5 highway mpg difference between the 2. As well as the difference between the AT and non-AT tires.

Michelin has a high fuel efficient tire (Michelin Energy Saver A/S - 225/65-R17) that gets 3-4 mpg better fuel mileage and the only significant difference from the Michelin Defender is the tread pattern.

I'm buying tires next week and do not want to give up my 41-43.5 MPG, but I've decided on Michelin Defenders...which should be close. I would never buy tires from Walmart just a quick source. I got 105,000 out of my last Michelins on a Honda Element. Tire brands are a crap shoot...when you look at the reviews...Some people report bad traction on the Energy Saver other say the opposite.

Thanks. That doesn't show as a current size on Michelin's website, shows out of stock at Walmart, wonder if it's been discontinued?

Both places I've been to for Michelin Defenders says they are out but can get them the next day.
Tire brands are a crap shoot...when you look at the reviews...Some people report bad traction on the Energy Saver other say the opposite, but everyone's an expert.

I just picked up the truck from the dealer, going to install new brake line myself. They told me the line sprayed brake fluid from both ends of the hose. Printed out the paper indicating that it is indeed not covered by warranty. Gave me the number to call Ford to dispute.

Going to remove hose and take pictures. will update when new part arrives.

Sorry in advance, someone can correct my if I'm nuts... but with a brake line spraying fluid at the fittings on both ends I would imagine that you'd be out of brake fluid, and braking power fairly quickly. Unless Ford has a super advanced braking system that can sense leaks and isolate the faulty section to prevent total loss of hydraulic braking...

Me, I'd park the thing until the brake line was properly repaired....

And yes previous posters are correct that the faulty line could cause that caliper to drag or stick contributing to the loss of MPG

I drive winding mountain road and part of it is dirt, unfortunately both have a drastic effect on tires. even the tires for my mirage only last a year or 30,000 miles. I will be checking alignment after I get new set of tires

I can definitely see windy roads that you're probably driving faster than the averge joe causing more shoulder/sidewall wear, and dirt can definitely grind down rubber faster. But still, feels too fast for me. At worst, did you see about getting any sort of warranty on them for the second pair?

True true, specifically overheated flex lines can get deterioration of the inner which balloons internally, making it "valve" so pressure goes to caliper and doesn't release, leaving brakes stuck or half stuck and dragging.

It’s totally dependent on how you’re driving. I always get less than 20k miles per set of tires, regardless of what car it is or the tread wear rating of the tire. The only exception to that rule was my time in Priuses. They don’t make enough power to use up the tires in less than 25k miles.
