I'm just about to hit the 2500km/1500 mile mark and I'm pretty pleased with my mileage. I live in a rural town so most of my driving is on local highways with an 80 km/h limit (50 mph) and there aren't many significant hills. I usually set the cruise at 85 km/h.
I'll do the conversion for my American friends:
7.7L/100km = 30.54 mpg
This is the average over the entire 2500 km.
