Wow that's crazy I was just going to post something similar and did a search and your thread just popped up (how timely).

So what you posted are the main differences between the XL and the XLT? Anything else that makes the XLT that much 'nicer?' If it is indeed around $2300 difference the 23 XL and XLT that does have me thinking. I wonder if there are any cheap rims we can add? That's really the only thing that really bothers me about the XL.

Also how do the XL and XLT interiors differ? Are the seats the same (same material, etc)? Just different colors?
The reasons to pick the xlt now is the wheels and blacked out package and the interior if you like it . If you go xl there very few upgrades you can do . If you go xlt you can almost every upgrade except 360 assit I think. That’s lariat luxury

I was going to order a XLT just for the cruise controll
Now that it is standard on the XL I plan on going with that

Just hope they bring Eruption Green to the Maverick
I'd love eruption green, and I've never bought anything green. Great color. Cruise I can do without. XL or XLT, depending on the order guide/pricing.

That's fine, I don't want that stuff either. :ROFLMAO:
That works for me lol I’m sure they will left over packages for people to order …. I hope obviously xlt packages will go to 2023 models first :/

new rims, power mirrors, keypad entry, locking tailgate. at $2300 more not sure anymore.
This is the way I see it:

Aftermarket rims that you can CHOOSE from: $1000ish

Power Mirrors: Worth only $75 in parts (motors, control knob, wiring)

Keypad Entry: Useless if you use the FordPass app but $40 in parts.

Locking Tailgate: Useless unless you have a camper shell/tonneau cover that can't be cut open but another $60 in parts.

So $1,175 value for $2300 cost.

Build all XLT's first? I doubt that.

Man I sure do hope a lot of folks do this shift from XLT to XL, that's fewer to compete with me keeping my XLT rollover order! :ROFLMAO:
I understand only 15% of the 35% 2023 mavericks will be XL trim where as 59% will be XLT. So order banks may not be open very long.

No I’m saying people who order blacked out package on their 2023 xlt maverick will have pritioty over someone who just wants the parts to put on their 2022 maverick . Secondly xlt get built the fastest since a lot xls will be hybrids .

Im going to sell my 2022 xlt to daughter and get a 2023 xl with just the trailer hitch.doesn’t look like the xlt is coming back home anyway 🤓provided the cruise comes on the 2023 as rumored.

Not to me, especially if you can still get the stand alone Ford Co-Pilot 360 which gives you power mirrors. The rest of the stuff you can add anytime.

There was a time in my car buying life my spending was frugal. So any vehicle I purchased I cut corners. Shortly after taking delivery though, damn why did I leave that option off. Would have been $12.00 more per month. Two years later my salary increased 12%. So now I have a vehicle I cut corners on, am not happy but trading in I'm gonna take a beating.

Eventually ordered exactly what I wanted. Was happy the entire time. Never a second guess.

Here is the best list of differences for 2022 that I could find.

EXTERIOR
● 17” Painted Aluminum Wheels
â—Ź Cubby Storage in Bed (Passenger Side)
â—Ź Cargo Tie Downs, plus four (+4)
â—Ź Gray Grille Bar
â—Ź Maverick XLT Fender Badge
● Mirrors, Sideview – Manual-folding, Power Glass w/ Spotter
â—Ź Power Tailgate Lock
â—Ź Wiper Activated LED Headlamps

INTERIOR/COMFORT
â—Ź Cruise Control
â—Ź Seats, Rear
— Cupholders
— Armrest
â—Ź Unique Cloth Bucket Seats

SAFETY/SECURITY
â—Ź Perimeter Alarm
● SecuriCode™ Keyless-Entry Keypad, Driver’s Side

I have a pre-order set up for an XL Hybrid with Copilot 360 so that will give me the power mirrors in addition to cruise control(which I do not care about).

I will also add a bed cubby and extra tie downs which should cost around $60 and be trivial to install.

It might be a bit early to write off the XLT though. They could add things like more adjustable power seats which I would be interested in getting.

They could also drop the price a lot.

You can get low to mid-range quality rims for $150-200 each. Of course you can spend more as well. So I guess you have to decide how much you love or hate the stock steel on the XL and how much you love or hate the stock XLT rims. Because replacing either is going to cost $600-800 minimum.

For me, I am also thinking about getting a set of winter tires to mount on a second set of rims. So if I did replace my XL steelies with nicer rims, I could use the stock steelies for the winter tires, saving ~80 per rim ($300+) that I would otherwise need to pay for the cheapest Amazon rims I can find in the correct size/bolt pattern.
Tire rack has $89 dollar aluminum wheels

The XL has no alarm???

The Xl has no electric lock on tailgate BUT it still locks with key, correct ??
