We just completed an 11 day road trip in our '22 Maverick Lariat hybrid from the Dallas area to Chicago, parts of Wisconsin, Kansas City, and back to DFW. The ride was comfortable and fairly quiet. We had no failure to start incidents, breakdowns, or catastrophic fires. :)

According to the Maverick we got 36.7 mpg for the trip. It was mostly highway miles with speed limits ranging from 65 to 75 mph and cruising 4-5 mph over the limit. This was better than expected. Prior to the trip, we had gotten 39.5 mpg overall in a combination of expressway and city driving.

Today when I wash it I'll expose how many rock chips we got. 😬

Interesting how your 11 day 2600 mile trip compares to our 12 day 2804 mile trip last year in June that went from Dallas to Saint Louis then to Iowa (Cedar Rapids, Dubuque) then to Chicago then Memphis and back to Dallas.

MPG stats from 12 days 2804 mile vacation trip in my Maverick Hybrid XLT

We got exactly 36 MPG as measured from pump receipts over the entire trip.

The high 43.5 MPG of was from this leg:

#3: From Saint Louis MO to Cedar Rapids IA - 6/6 10.225 Gallons @ $4.449/G
distance driven 446 miles - MPG 43.5 - Highway Speeds 60-65 MPH
about 93 miles driving around in Saint Louis before heading to Iowa and a lot was on electric only mode

and the low of 30.7 MPG of was from this leg:

#6: From Tuscola IL to Memphis TN - 6/12 12.848 Gallons @ $4.349/G
distance driven 395 miles - MPG 30.7 - Highway Speeds 65-75 MPH

This leg got the worst MPG because the AC was on constantly because temps were in the high 90's and speeds were 78 MPH. I did have considerable head winds on this leg.

The worst mileage I saw on a tank was 30.2 mpg through portions of Iowa and Kansas at 75-79 mph in windy conditions. The best was just under 40 mpg going from Southern Illinois up toward Chicago.

Look like the wind in Illinois must blow up from the bottom going north :ROFLMAO:

You got the best MPG going north and I got the worst MPG going south.

Did anyone ever dream there would be a 4 door truck, comfortable, affordable, etc. that could give you that kind of fuel mileage? When I used to drive full size trucks, I would get excited when I got 22-23 and thought I was in high cotton, not to mention the price difference, just for a truck with half the equipment.
