Completely missing the target here IMO. The compact truck space had been abandoned for 10 years despite plenty of interest still out there. The Maverick was a gamble which paid off handsomely for Ford. Not everyone wants, needs or can afford ever larger trucks being pushed on us. Even mid-size is not desirable for many potential truck buyers.
You have made valid points that I agree with - heck, I’ve been daily driving F150’s for over 2 decades and bought a Maverick this time around out of my own curiosity. I don’t think any of that changes the accuracy of my earlier post…if my thoughts/opinions are actually accurate. 👍

"The top of the motor"?
Do you mean the valvetrain?

How much lubricant do you think is going to "drain down into the pan" when the engine is off for 30 seconds or a minute? I'm thinking like none.

I love it when guys who couldn't qualify for the basic shade tree mechanic achievement badge think they no more than actual engineers who design cars.

No, I have never driven a hybrid. What I do know is turning an engine off and on isn't good for it. Does the hybrid motor constantly run the oil pump so the top of the motor stays lubricated or does all the oil drain down into the pan leaving the moving ICE parts vulnerable to premature wear and tear?

I can't stand the auto engine stop feature so no way would I have considered the hybrid even if it got 100 mpg and AWD. At least I can turn that off on the ecoboost.
Not an issue for me on my Maverick Hybrid.

Gas engine (start/stop) works seamlessly with the eCVT in the Hybrid powertrain.

Love the fact that the AC runs off the HV battery so it works with the engine off in stop and go traffic.

Also much less future problems having the hybrid vs the ecoboost.

Hybrid has no accessory belt, no starter, no alternator, no turbo

I still would have gone with gas.

Uh you do know the Hybrid has a gas engine.

You just use less gas in the hybrid vs ecoboost.

The hybrid in this form is basically 2005 tech, the Prius model. It has one trick, great mpg which it does very well. That's not enough to tempt me in light of all the associated problems reported on this forum.

Now if it had AWD, an actual power generating feature like the Powerboost with 30 amps of quiet power that I could use for camping, tailgating, portable power for tools or keeping my furnace going during power outages then it'd be something to think about. Heck I have a noisy single cyc portable that can do that. Yes I could see paying for a Powerboost option if it had AWD. The 400 watt inverter is a joke for both models.

I think the hybrid can go longer than 60 seconds on just the battery. If your daily commute involves bumper to bumper traffic, I'd say its liable to go ten or fifteen minutes before ICE takes over.

Never said I was a mechanic or even have a tree to work under. Just seems to me the more the motor turns off and turns back on would cause premature wear.

Now really? Is that why it is called a Hybrid?

Probably someone already answered you but the hybrid start stop is absolutely seamless. There isn't any hesitation because the electric motor moves you off the line and the engine instantly starts with no jolt.

Yeah that's the way it's supposed to work but search this forum for shudder and see how many results you get.

Yes, I am wondering what the issue is. Mine has no shudders or any issues. All I have noted is:
There is a "vibration sound" when the engine is running at low speed some times. It doesn't shudder though. I do have the issue where when I stop for the first time with engine heating up it feels like its gently tugging forward.

that could be caused by a rough lopping idle, might show up on a tach. I've noticed it in ice cars over the years.

Why do so many of you on this forum believe the hybrid to be everyones only option? Not everyone has the same driving habits..

The 400w is for convenience sake for charging your iPad or cordless drill.

If you want a 3000w inverter, you can add that as an option. Just sayin.

I can charge my tablet, drill, air compressor off the 12v outlet
If I could run 3,000w off the HV battery and not screw my warranty I'd consider it.

That "vibration sound" isn't a vibration at all but a sound from the speaker under the hood to alert blind people because of the missing gas engine noise while running on electric only mode.
