Merely plugging it into the OBDII and powering it on shouldn't cause any problems. You have to give input to elicit a response.

Those Accessports are almost idiot proof. Not saying you are an idiot, of course.
I know. Honestly I feel like the 25 doesn't need a tune. The main reason I tuned my 22 was for the transmission. The trans tune completely changed how it drove. With my 25 in sport mode the trans feels better than my 22 did tuned. I'm very impressed with the 25 so far.

No need. Its a 4 cylinder
Yeah I like reading about all this tuning stuff.
I’d like to see side by side
Stock/tuned quarter mile times and zero to sixty.
Fifty to eighty would be cool to look at.
The tranny tunes are beyond me.
Sport mode tunes my stock system pretty well.
I personally have no need for more performance out of my Ecoboost, wouldn’t want to mess up its economy or longevity.

Im not saying these tunes would shorten its life but my right foot would soon become crack addicted to the tune and I’d just burn up my truck faster.

Some body needs to start taking these mini trucks to the drag strip.

respectfully, I'm going to have to drive a 2025 ecoboost to check that out. there is an adaptive element to it so if you drive 'spiritedly' often it will adjust a little bit but I bet it still does the annoying thing with locking the torque converter at low speeds in 4th gear and higher.

numerous people thought the '25 standard audio is better (it is because of sync4) and also thought the '25 B&O audio is better (it is the same), so I'm going to have to check out this out.

I will this spring. Livernois does rent the track twice a year for customers. Spring and fall.
I try and make it to one a year. It’s like a car show but everyone is racing. I get over 25 passes a night and I could easily get 50 if I wanted to. If I go this year I’ll get some stock vs tuned times.

Does that mean you’re not gonna tune it? 😀

The trans tune is worth every penny and no need for sport mode.

academic at this point, as you can't yet tune a 2025 ecoboost.

someone still needs to find out if Panda's interceptor (similar/same as Racechip) or JB4 work on a 2025. Burger Tuning simply says 2022+ .. but I'd probably ask them if anyone has installed it successfully on a 2025 Maverick yet. https://burgertuning.com/products/jb4-tuner-ford-maverick

Cobb Tuning asked someone to connect their existing AP to it and they refused. 🤷

how do you own an accessport and not realize how it works?

I know everyone keeps saying we can’t tune them but as far as I know nobody has even tried.
I’d call Livernois today but I hate wasting peoples time if I wasn’t in the market for it. I don’t have a 25 so I’d rather not waste time. If I had a 25 I would hook up my cal and see.

Yeah, stupid 4-cylinders (without displacement reference) can't benefit from more boost... I bet I can guess your generation.

I'm curious to see what generation you think that might be.

The accessport for the 22-24 Maverick does not work on the 25. I plugged it in and it powers up fine. When I click install tune or read trouble codes it just spins like it's trying to connect. The truck was in the key ON position like the accessport says. The check engine light popped on when trying to read trouble codes but nothing happened.

Doesn't it have to be "married" to the car?
