Looking to buy a AWD 23' ST Line Escape for my daughter. It has a 2.0 EB motor. I do see looking on here that it's stated the Maverick is on the same platform(which a lot of resemblance inside) had. Just curious if the escape itself is a solid rig and any feedback from people who own or had a 23' Escape.
I took it for a test drive and besides the slight stiff shifting between gears it drove and handled great. Con is the touch screen controls for the heat system. I prefer manual control but I assume at some point those will be gone.

Again just curious about this rig. Taking daughter to test drive for herself tomorrow. Thanks

Had a 2020 SEL as a rental. Interior quality, both in terms of materials and construction, is light years ahead of the Maverick.

The answer is always Mazda.

My first car was a rust bucket Honda. Kids these days sure have it good.

I bought my daughter a 2020 EB in 2021 she has been driving it ever since. We have had no problems or break downs. The gas milage is great. I would buy it again.

My wife has a ‘23 AWD ST Line Escape. It is our 4th 2.0 Escape. Had ‘13, ‘17, ‘20. We looked long and hard at the Bronco Sport, but she like the Escape better. Only took a couple days to get used to the bigger size screen; I cannot wait to have that in the Maverick. As far as the HVAC controls, the only pain is turning Max A/C on & off; the rest was fairly easy to get used to.

I drove a 2022 Escape titanium loaner for about 3k miles. It was a nice car but it was shaky like Maverick and the cabin had a lot of road/engine noises like Maverick. To me, Escape is almost identical to Maverick including cheap build quality. I do not even want to talk about a bronco sport.

I would go for a low miles (10k-20k miles) with about a year old Edge SEL, ST line, ST or Titanium and add a premium care plan. These Edges can be found for $25k-$33k. All Edges come with 2.0L EB except the ST that has 2.7L EB. You should test drive and Edge on the same route and compare with the Escape. Edge has proper sound dampers and a big center screen. Driver screens are an old style but you get two of those. Older lariat ranger has those screens.

The Escape was updated for 2023 with a much better interior. Rumors have it the Bronco Sport and Maverick will also get a similar updated interior for 2025 models.

Not really. It still has a newer small screen. Customers have to pay extra for a bigger screen. It has some updated inside and barely noticeable outside. I did not pop up the hood but I doubt that it would have any sound dampers inside fenders. It was not even worth time to test test drive it. However, an Escape 2.0L EB is a little faster than an Edge 2.0L EB. 2.0L EB is an extra option for Escape.

our sales fleet is mostly 2.0 awd escapes. zero issues and most have over 100k miles with minimum maintained. Im working on getting them to be better. only issue we have had with a single ford car was rear end going out at around 125k on an explorer.

Thanks for the replies on here.
Mavelick, when driving down the country road at 55 with the wife sitting next to me the escape was quiet and did not have any noticeable rattles or vibrations. Heading back to dealer on freeway at 70 it was still quiet and road noise didn't seem to be an issue. The screen size in this is 13.2 I believe. Definitely not small by any means. I would not want any screen bigger than that. I hope it does have the setting where you can change the background to black/grayish so it's not annoying at night.

Gotcha. BlueRaven is a large solar installation company. I believe across the US. I just see them hiring all the time. That is all
