I swear my 12v outlet used to time out on vehicle exit after 60 seconds. My outlet now remains hot. It never powers down or it stays on for such a long time that I quit checking. Does your 12v outlet time out?

This may be a FORScan question. I know on my F150 I was able to program the outlet time out. Does anybody know if this can be done with FORScan on the Maverick? What is the specific code that needs to be changed?

It can be set in Forscan, and the timeout amount is in seconds. The Battery Monitoring System will over rule the timeout setting and cut the outlets off quicker if it deems it necessary.

You might be able to find the setting on this list:
[EDIT: direct link to Forscan master list won't post for me. Try googling "Forscan master list" and the Maverick Truck Club thread should be the top link]

I don’t have Forscan so mine is still at the factory default. When my truck was new, the 12v outlets stayed on for about 40 minutes after the key was off. But about 5 months ago my truck (ā€˜23 hybrid, purchased new in July) started cutting off the power outlets the moment I open the driver’s door with the key off.

In my case I want them to stay on for parking lot dash cams and a 12 volt bicycle tire inflator. Very annoying. Maybe we can swap trucks? Also, I’d be getting your Lariat for my XL. LOL.

@A Sturdy Beast , you've got me thinking now. Maybe my outlet has always had a long time out. I'm aware of the battery issue, so months ago I set up a battery tender that I can easily use on a regular basis to top off the battery. I no longer get those battery messages. Since "fixing" that issue I may have created my new issue: the outlet not timing out quickly.

I have a video mirror plugged into mine. I want the screen to shut off. Anyhow, I'll do your Google suggestion.

EDIT: Found a list. It has a 12v outlet timeout listed. Getting my free license now. This "problem" should be rectified soon. Thanks.

There is a default timeout, but it is also limited by the battery monitoring system. If it was shutting off immediately, it was likely in deep sleep mode.

Here is the link to the Forscan Spreadsheet mentioned by @A Sturdy Beast:

The default timeout should be set to 30 minutes if in ACC mode and 75 minutes if off, but it is also limited by the battery monitoring system. If it was shutting off immediately, it was likely in deep sleep mode.

Thanks for posting the direct link. When I tried to post it shows as media and lately I can’t post attachments to this forum. Probably due to my ad blocker or Java Script blocker.

The time-out appears to vary among vehicles. Mine is about 90 min. if the battery is fully charged. But if just used in town, the BCM appears to not charge the battery fully. First the Auto Start/Stop will not be working, giving the message the it doesn't work because vehicle is charging. But eventually the charge will drop to the point the power point shuts off when the door is opened. Putting a charger on the battery will restore the proper operation. Long highway trips will also bring it back.

My problem is rectified thanks to FORScan. I changed the power port timeout from 4500 seconds to 60 seconds.

EDIT: and thanks to @A Sturdy Beast for steering me straight.
