Wow they doubled their mark up since last week!

Yeah a local dealer wants $5k added on, so im going two hours away to get one that isnt marked up. I figured a total of 4-5 hours of driving is worth 5k. I dont have any job prospects lined up paying 1k/hr.

Doesn't sound like they are beating the doors down to scarf up that Maverick. Asking 5K over last week, no takers so they double it. LOL. Times are getting tougher by the day in this country, sadly. Anyone who would pay that and face being that much underwater in the near future needs a good financial advisor.

A friend of mine works for a company that makes and distributes after market truck accessories. He knew I was going to get my Maverick for awhile now. So when I was showing him the truck last week, he says, "you cold make $10,000 on this right now". Of course, I paid sales tax, and technically speaking I'd have to pay tax on my $8500 gain.... but wow I feel lucky to have gotten mine.
And so far, no problems. As I've posted before, taking off next week on a two week trip in it, probably will put on 4000 or 5000 miles.... more to follow.

I've called numerous dealerships in Florida to be added to call back lists in hopes that a Maverick becomes available. I always ask "If a truck becomes available, will you sell it at MSRP or mark it up?"
Some dealers don't even hesitate to say they'll mark it up by 5k, 8k, or even 10k. And they say it as if they're just tacking on just a little extra fee. Then they try to justify it with "we're just out to make a fair profit." It ain't fair at that point.

I saw a YouTube video from a dealer selling an xl for 48k. Used with 200 miles. Base with no add ons. Phishing im sure but someone will feel like they got it for a deal at 40k.
