The button is the "automatic" method.
The green is the stated manual release.
Time to review your manual.

And yes I supposed it could have been yanked on hard enough to break it, considering all it has to do, it's not exactly a heavy cable type of requirement.
You’re correct
One type of water bottle that fits into the door is the Mainstays 22 oz Blue and Silver Plastic Water Bottle with Screw Cap from Walmart. Appropriate to the Maverick experience, they're only about $1.00 each.
Good to know. I would feel guilty though if I didn't remind members to try to limit their use of plastic water bottles due to the recent research about how micro particles of plastic are finding their way into our bodies. I think a better alternative would be stainless steel. Surely, someone here has a link to one that would fit.

Not a truck but an accessory tip. You can get swing out tool boxes that fit behind the wheel wells. I purchased one when my 22 Hybrid was new. Things to know: 1. They hold a lot but in the way when hauling larger items in the bed . 2. The mounting brackets for the box stick out just far enough that a 4x8 sheet of plywood no longer fits the bed width. 3. Obstructs the 120v outlet or built in storage cubby. 4. In the way of the back load anchor point. Probably my least useful add on. I removed the bin and brackets and just keep a tote strapped down in the bed up front.
Thanks for the input. I'm sure your information will be helpful to many members.

Explain Police Dark Mode and Ambulance mode please
From what I've gathered from other members police mode disables the interior lights. Ambulance mode is more complicated in that it allows the truck to be locked with all accessories running but only a special key gives one access.
If you look at the earlier posts on the thread you'll find a more detailed explanation

Oh. I apologize, I misread the post. Yes. I think the Lariat has visor lights. I have an XLT, no lights. 🫤
You're fine. The list should have been more emphatic about that. I apologize for not updating or editing the list.

I scanned my key code card into Notes on my iPhone. I haven't forgotten it, yet. Of course if you lock your phone into your Maverick and forget the code it's not going to be much help.
Program your own personal code.

#3 I think the octane recommendations apply to EcoBoost only.
You're right. That should have been stipulated in the list. While I do feel apologetic about not editing and updating the list, it is great to see the contributions and discussions submitted.

I admitted as much… and so what? We’ve had many new members since 2022 when that first came out and if you bothered to noticed, several people have added to the discussion with updated good and bad points. Unlike yourself who seemingly finds comfort in only posting empty criticisms.
Hey "Dad. Thanks for the reminders. I'm 70 and its good. No, I mean Great that reminders are brought fourth. Thanks

Looking at the list of the 10 Maverick secrets, I looked under the driver's side rear-view tire and found this green tab. Is this the manual gas lid release? It does not feel like it is hooked to anything.

I have a 2024 Hybrid and there is a button on the dashboard to open the gag lid.

Dad:

Item No. 2: I found this when I looked under the driver's side wheel well. It is not connected to anything. Could it be the manual release for the fuel door?

I ave a 2024 Hybrid and the fuel door release is a button on the dashboard you push.

I was using my phone while in the doctor's office for my first reply to your question and didn't get a chance to elaborate. Thus, this post.

The Secret List should have explained the green tab (which you accurately found) is an emergency release for the gas tank lid if the button in the dash fails.
Thanks for pointing out the discrepancy.

Does anyone actually use 91 in hybrid?
I have only ever used 87
I do not. The list should have more specific about the engine in question which was the EB. Frankly, I don't see how the added expense would be worth it, but no doubt, there's a thread here where it's debated. Anyone?

Not exactly, "ambulance mode" allows the regular vehicle key to be removed from the ignition without shutting off the engine. The vehicle can be locked while running while the EMTs are away, but if someone breaks in and the key isn't reinserted into the ignition they can't take the vehicle as it will shut off if the brake is pressed in order to shift into drive.

Interesting. What's the diameter and asking for the other poster, is there any plastic in it?
