I believe the Maverick scheduling for this month was fairly light in comparison to the first run of allocation. We received about half of our initial allocation run.

We are getting all retail orders previewing today. All the orders we have previewed are with the 2.0 engine, XLT or Lariate Trims, and all AWD units. I can't say if that is a national trend, but it is what we are seeing with our orders.

Curious: How do you know they are previewing them today?

Sigh. Definitely appreciate the update (even though I don't benefit from this) and it definitely tracks with at least one of the other big Forum dealers. It appears that those of us with hybrid orders (even us June ones) are gonna have to be REALLY patient. At this rate I will likely need to coordinate with your sales staff to have winter tires installed (and factory tires thrown in the bed) when my truck is delivered to you.

Can you please explain the purpose of a dealer "preview?"

Very interesting, thanks for the update! Mine ordered granted in mid july...is an XLT and ecoboost with AWD so thats a good sign perhaps. However i wont hold my breath. My dealer has been quiet as the grave about it all. Im assuming ill be contacted when indeed it is scheduled. But all in all thanks for the update!

Ballpark count on your total number of October previews, if I may ask?

Sure, but I'm not going to be happy when I see "previewing" instead of "scheduling" news like this.

Previewing, AFAIK but correct me if I'm wrong, is in the hands of regionals; and scheduling in the hands of Detroit. So someone out in the field is pushing a certain type of Mav (EB over Hybrid) instead of simply responding to market demand or reacting to supply/commodities.

I hope Detroit overrules regions ignoring market demand. FoMoCo is more progressive than its dealers. Come on Detroit!

I personally prefer to believe that Ford is addressing quality control issues on the hybrid before ramping up to full production. I have no evidence to support that but it's better than thinking that Ford is intentionally trying to manipulate a segment of its customer base to switch powertrains due to profit margins.

The evidence, which is only members here and on subreddit so its indeed a small population sample compared to 80k reservations, shows that Ford has _already_ scheduled 4 out of 10 Mavs as Hybrids.

I don't think it's Ford manipulation. When I say "regionals", that is regional sales management sitting closer to dealers and not Detroit corporate.

And before Ecoboost folks start cheering, notice a preference for other types of builds too, like AWD and not XL. So even if you got an EB ordered, this previewing news may not be good news for you. It appears to pushing a certain build & option.

If there aren't enough parts to preview XLs, then we've got bigger problems.

It's the other way around. The more parts they have, the more parts they want to use early so they don't have to pay to store the extra parts while they build simpler units.

So say they order 500 7-pin hitches. Then they'll want to use up those first rather than have them sit and wait for base XLs to finish. This is why the most complicated units are built first--cheaper and more efficient logistics.

Elsewhere I read of 139 CVTe transmissions ordered for 1 weeks production. I commented that they may be rehearsing and repeating assembly techniques, put it together/analyze assembly quality/take it apart, rinse repeat.
I'd sooner they put them together so they will be quality product rather than get them out in the wild and have problems and EVEN MORE dissatisfied customers.

"It is often hard to find the time to do a job right the second time when you did not have time to do it right the first..."

" You can get it quick, cheap or good. Pick two."

Observed(maybe not true) AWD is getting a lot of production.
