13 days is a quick shipment… idk if they’ll make that happen
They can probably time the shipping and have them hit lots on the 8th!

Fall 2021!!!!!! Raise the mission accomplished banner!

I live in Tucson so it's only a few hours North of the factory, to save time I'll meet my Maverick at the border! 🤣 🇲🇽🇺🇸

Our source at Ford has just confirmed the OKTB (ok-to-buy) date for the Maverick Hybrid is December 8, 2021, due to the emission certification delay. This info originates directly from Hermosillo plant.

It remains to be seen if this date holds, but we should be less than two months away from the first saleable hybrid trucks ready to ship from the Hermosillo plant to dealers/buyers.
Note that the delay was for the "emission certification" not the MPG numbers.

I do wonder why emission testing caused the delay?

Glad to hear, but i can't believe it's still so far out. Hoping they really do ship LIFO as my build date is scheduled for the end of Nov.

There's a post on the forum in which a member quoted an article that state emission rules/laws changed for 2022 MY so that might the whole reason behind the delay.

Good omen for those of us with a 12/6 build week. So, when do the window stickers come out?
Should be available midweek prior to your build week.

Almost two months from now?!? I'm glad my vehicle hasn't been built yet in that case and sitting around in some dusty field. In addition, will Ford be aggressively building Hybrids during this time if they can't be delivered?

So here's a question. Should any of us with hybrids already built (mine is built 9/24), sitting somewhere in Mexico maybe, be concerned about traction battery degradation? I know one of the worst things you can do is let the battery sit and discharge. I'm more familiar with the nickle metal hydride batteries in the Prius. They recommended you start it once a month to prevent battery degradation. Not really knowledgeable what the effect of a lithium battery sitting unused for 3 months.

As I understand it, they can be shipped or rail transported (not sure about trucking but expect it can be) into a port of entry. There is a port of entry at Midlothian Texas. They can stay within the land area designated as the ports containment area for a period of time (justified by maybe needing an examination for contraband) when the item leaves the port property it is considered "imported" and import duties become due and payable by the Importer (Ford, or agent). If it goes to dealers lot and is parked there someone has paid the duties and may be paying personal property taxes on it and somebody is having to pay insurance on it. So the over all most economical holding will be at assembly point. If is transported to any place other than a port of entry duties will become due and payable at time the it crosses border.
