You can clean this up even further, if you're inclined! If you pop open that bottom black part (it's just clips), you'll find that the USB-A port is just an adapter from a mini-B input.
In short, you can get a mini-B to whatever adapter you need and hide everything in the back so you don't have...
Installed Musology mud guards this afternoon. Total cost was around 115$ CAD. Shipping took over a month (yeesh) but they seem to be of decent quality. The kit includes a forked rivet remover, a completely useless Ikea-style Phillips screwdriver, and some stick on protective film so the guards...
So that's what they're called! Good to know!
I've only had it for two months. I figured it's a 5$ fuse and a learning experience but I suppose it may be best to bring it in in case something else has blown.
Properly installed my HS-10's volume/gain knob next to the 12v outlet. It came out great and it's way more convenient this way. I can fiddle with it depending on the type of music I'm listening to.
Plenty of room in there.
Dissasembled the knob. It's just held by that one nut, which I'll...
Just noticed that the 12v socket in the back's not working when my kids went to charge their tablets.
I took a glance at the manual and I think I'm looking at fuse #71; a 20 amp seems about right. I've checked the box and they're the square type. I've never messed with that type of fuse before...
There aren't many Mavs around here but I've surpringly had a few waves. The Area 51 blue is pretty easy to spot from far away I suppose because I've missed many coming in opposite lanes.
Agreed! Installation was simple though it's a little tight back there. I also ended up dropping an allen key in the engine bay when I was tightening the last bolt, so that was fun.
A good tip I saw in one of the videos is to apply grease to the seals so they don't fall out during installation.
I was inspired by this post and added a charger in my truck today. It's been working well and installation was pretty painless! Definitely worth it if you're pairing this with a wireless Android Auto or Carplay adapter.
I used the same charger as in the original post - I didn't want to risk the...
Added a hidden wireless charger today. I was inspired by this thread and used an under desk-mounted pad and a USB adapter wired to the fuse box, giving me two ports so I could also hide my dashcam's USB cable.
The charger works surprisingly well with my case but I do wish I had gone with a 15...
Mine freezes often. I've only had the truck three or four weeks and it's crashed at least a dozen times. It's by far the worst thing about the Maverick.
From Etsy. I chose a matte black background with gloss black text.
They're vinyl and super thin, but seem to be of good quality otherwise. Installation took me a few tries and I wrinkled the front one a bit.
Same. I was expecting terrible sound but it's fine. I added a Kicker HS10 subwoofer and it provides the low end the system was missing. I do plan on upgrading the front speakers eventually, but it's definitely more than serviceable.
The letters are white. The blue tint is a factory film to prevent stains and scuffs during shipping. It washes away on its own after a while but you can use a scrub brush, water, and elbow grease to remove it.
The tint is fairly close to the paint color so it's not too much of an eyesore for now!
