Fix the very low speed excessively sudden brake 'grabbiness' issue.
Swap the rotary shifter for a set of hardware buttons on the dashboard.
Resize the screen hood to fit the screen or upgrade to a screen that fills it completely.
Upgrade the Sync 3 system to a Sync 4/4A system, or the upcoming...
Yep, even a base hybrid F-150 (and I mean base, not a single option, crank windows, etc) costs more than two base Mavericks, $45,860 net price.
Of course, you also get more truck for that money in some areas, such as an extra foot of length in the bed, a bigger interior, Sync 4, more complete...
When you say "custom fab work", do you mean like a car audio type of shop? I've never had a vehicle that was worth modifying like this, so stuff like this is all new to me.
I'm still trying to decide between trims, and the cost difference between an XL and a Lariat Lux is around $8400 for my option choices, not including taxes. How much do you think that a shop (and what kind of shop?) would charge to install, calibrate, and test the stuff, if I provided parts?
A...
Mind you, my last Ford was a 1996 model, however at least in that model, the cruise on and off buttons were separate from the set/accel, resume, and coast buttons.
If you just pressed set/accel, nothing happened. If you tapped the on button first, or pressed it at the same time as the set/accel...
For good reason. The coffee was way WAY hotter than even McDonald's own internal guidelines.
The lady that sued them over that was seriously injured. Her skin was fused together. Further, she just wanted them to pay her medical bills, and they refused.
People love to laugh about this case as a...
Fear of oxygen deprivation? Is that like the thing where people in countries such as South Korea (and maybe others) believe that leaving fans running overnight in rooms where people are sleeping will somehow kill them by somehow removing the oxygen?
Of course it's a physical impossibly for an...
Interesting article. I fully expected that the abstraction that automakers had with hand-waving about "suppliers" would be something that they would have to drop and get more directly engaged in.
"Ford has announced it will work with GlobalFoundries to secure its supply of chips. Mike Hogan...
Easy, do not open any doors while the vehicle is in drive, ever. This is user error.
You have mirrors for close-in observation of surroundings when needed, and mirrors can be adjusted.
All the threads I've seen are old ones, for 2022 orders.
Considering that various videos are saying that the car market is sliding into a recession (repos way up, etc), I would expect that would translate to better deals for consumers ordering new, at least I hope so.
Also, would I need to...
Not really.
As much as I want the Lariat Lux for the adaptive cruise control, I can't justify the extra $9,365 more (MSRP, before taxes) than the base XL with CP360, the hitch receiver, and the 400 watt power inverter.
On some vehicles, that might be less of a sting, but on a truck like this...
OP, what would you estimate the net weight loss was, considering materials you removed, minus whatever weight (such as the wood floor platform) that you added?
Personally, since I intend to use the truck to pull a camper, until/unless I can get a line on a select few campers that are light enough after driver/passenger/cargo weights, I will likely bite the proverbial bullet and go for a hybrid F-150, even though they're around 2x the cost. For my...
OP, I really like your creativity to use that existing and otherwise mostly useless cubby, but personally I don't want something like a radio in my field of view when driving.
So while a mount so high up would not be something that I would buy, you are to be commended for your ingenuity.
I've been thinking the same thing since it was released. They had a very similar nameplate from the same era, of a vehicle that had a car front end with a bed in the back - the Ranchero - that they could have used. The Maverick was the name of a mostly forgotten car that wasn't all that special.
I'm sure that GM and all the other auto manufacturers are flush with customer ordered vehicles with all options available, and are therefore a display of competence, in contrast to Ford... right?
Carefully read what I said, then see what the PDF owners manual says, page 230: "WARNING: In cold and severe weather conditions the system may not function. Rain, snow and spray can all limit sensor performance."
