Currently digging up my yard chasing a water leak for the last 5 days. Finally isolated it to being somewhere from the water meter in the alley to the shutoff valve i installed at the house. House is tight. With house shut off, meter is still clicking away. Been digging through 24" of solid packed clay. I have 19 more feet to dig to get to the meter today. City says its 1/4 gallon a minute leak. That's a lot!! No wet spots in the yard. So as far as the lights install goes, it's probably gonna be awhile.

Well the guy who had the house built Mr. French, did a bunch of really hack tastic crap all over this property that I had to un do. I could never find the house master shut off valve, or the main sprinkler shut off valve. The sprinkler system that he had was some sort of Rube Goldberg alarm clock type contraption. Home plumbed with a bunch of rain bird stuff that was probably state of the art in 1980 when the house was built.

When I bought the house, I found sprinkler PVC pipe barely below the dirt, pvc pipe on top of the dirt, connections made with sections of garden hose then buried, and some not buried. Rain bird sprinklers with hose clamps attaching them to rebar as metal stakes that were pounded into the ground I ripped it all out. Hit the last electric valve, water shot out, I shut off the valve at the meter and capped it. That was 22 years ago

Well I found the main sprinkler shut off today.
The plumber put a modern ball valve to isolate the house on friday after I dug out the house feed line and then told me the leak was in the yard. since I started digging in a different spot and the ground was rock hard, . I went back to where the house was.

I dug about 5 feet out from where I started and found the leak. I cut out the old gate valves for the sprinkler and sweat fit on some copper caps. Then I used some Aerospace JB weld on the leak to temp hold it until my plumber guy can come back and correctly fix the leak, remove the old original gate valve, and add in a second new ball valve for my future "professionally installed" sprinkler system.

As I was progressing towards the leak I dug out 4 old spackle buckets that were full of dirt with grass growing over them that had all the old valves inside them. They were stacked one inside each other in 2 spots. Unbelievable!! This should be the last of the hack foolery that Mr. French left behind when he moved.

Tomorrow afternoon after I fill in the trench in my yard and water down the grass plugs I removed, I will be cleaning off my tools, putting everything away, and may actually plumb in them sweet light/vent assemblies I modded.

The Aerospace JB weld is holding very well lol. And the crap I dug out of there along with some of the crap valves, a brick paver I broke out of there, and old sprinkler system manifold I sawzalled out of there.

I had to clearance the fenders for the screws holding my fender vent turn signal brackets. A little zip zip with an air inline die grinder and a rotary file. A little epoxy primer. Sprayed the silver inside the vent hole flat black, and snap snap they are installed. I ran and zip tied the wires in place run up to the front signal lights. I probed the sockets and know which to tie into. I just ran outta time. My 8 day work week starts tomorrow.

These door pulls from evilbay. These are listed for 2020-2022 ford escape. I plan on putting these in along with blue LED back lighting to light up the door pull recesses, and blue LED back lighting for the door panel cubbys.

Well now that the plumbing is fixed, i filled it back in and installed a legit access cover, I am now getting a bunch of stuff done on my honey do list. After that I will be wiring up my side mount signal lights within the next few days.

Redline Tuning hood strut kit. $99 off Amazon I believe. Uses a 10mm socket and 13mm socket and 13mm wrench. 15 minute assembly time. You have to remove the bolt and clip nut off washer fluid bottle. Well worth having these. No prop rod in the way.

I tried these on my 2023 , couldnt get the hood open without pushing down on the hood near the hinge. Took them off and lived with the stick

I had the same problem with hood struts. Wrestling to get the hood unlatched every time is not feasible, so the hood struts went bye-bye.

Going to install these in place of the factory horns. Years ago I bought a set of Fiamm Rivera air horns for a Dodge Daytona I had. They were dual high and low note. Damn things were pricey, but loud and sounded like 1970s ferrari horns. These sound exactly the same but at $25 out the door, I cant complain. Going to be an easy install except for making a mounting bracket.

The same factory 2 wire horn plug fits a flex bed plug, so I am going to order another flex bed plug to wire the compressor in without cutting wires. Pretty easy too. Motor has male spades and is marked plus and minus. One factory horn plug will remain unplugged in the truck body wiring since it has dual electric horns. I will plug it with a daub of silicone, and tuck it into the harness. I plan on painting the trumpets and compressor flat black. And getting black rubber hose instead of the clear surgical tubing in the kit. I tested these on the workbench. They are 118db pretty loud, and have that cool vintage ferrari horn sound.

I have the same (Harbor Freight) and was torn between installing them in the Maverick or my motor home. I opted for the motor home because I get more people trying to cut me off in the larger motor home than in the Maverick. I'll probably just get another set for the Maverick which will make your postings even more interesting. Looking forward to see how this all goes. Thanks for the post.
