. From what Mike told me if any codes in Apim/ Acm it shuts off sound. Tried every forscan settings that everyone posted and still no good. I can see volume change in apim.

Wanted to ask you a totally off topic question, but was your vehicle already equipped with Sync3? I cannot for the life of me get this APIM unplugged. Trying to get my hands back there but it feels impossible the two times I’ve tried now.

I have purchase one of their kits - FYI they are scumbags. Take days to answer emails, product specifications are questionable- not even sure if they give instructions on the Forscan modifications.

How difficult was getting the cables out of the old APIM for you? I’m a let to remove the larger harness and usb but cannot for the life of me remove the other smaller ones. Any tips? Was it just brutal?

That one’s not so bad. My truck had Sync 3 so I’m having to pull that APIM out and there’s two smaller cables towards the back and a USB cable plugged into it that I’m finding impossible to get to release. Even with the clips pressed in it feels like it’s going to break. Either that or something on the 24 changed?
Too determined to give up at this point!

And we are up! Couple issues I’ve run into now though. The back up camera works, but is acting up a bit? Incredibly dim.

And then there’s the fun of reprogramming thing. I couldn’t figure out how to get the volume to display properly (stuck on 0) but did get climate controls to display. Also can’t figure out how to get the splash screen to full screen again.

After programming, everything seems to work fine! Even the camera!

Now we have to put everything together and find the maps for the GPS.

Is it necessary to put an antenna on the GPS?

Looks great! I’m ready to do this swap as well just not sure exactly what needs to be changed in forscan.

Did you copy Bills as-built from earlier in this thread, or what needs to be changed? Didn’t see any other programming suggestions. I’m using the 12” and apim from a transit

So it was odd. At first, the back up camera did nothing. I’d put the truck in reverse and the screen would stay on CarPlay or whatever it was on already. In Forscan I went to the APIM module and saw the rear camera was disabled, so I enabled it and now the camera turns on when the truck is put in reverse, but the feed is incredibly dark and slightly glitchy on screen.

I’m not sure if it’s a processing thing in a different module I need to reset, a reset of the fuse itself, or if the wiring on the harness is the issue.

There are a couple other small bugs I need to figure out, but really the only important thing that isn’t working 100% correctly is the back up camera.

Bill did a 3 to 4. his programming is on here. May get yours going, I tried his also but still no sound.

If anybody has any tips for this? Forscan is driving me absolutely insane.

1) Backup camera looks like this and cannot figure out how to recalibrate or reset the module as my first resort.
2) For some reason all of my controls shifted to the passenger side of the screen? Even in CarPlay the app bar is on the right side side now.
3) Cannot figure out for the life of me where the setting to make climate value to appear on screen like the media volume value does.

Update for everyone. Finalized programming today and I believe everything works. Ford pass still remote stars locks and unlocks. Xm works. Wireless android auto works. Backup camera works, Ford nav works ish (will show location on the map but a subscription is required for nav not worried about that with AA)

Did you need to add an antenna for the factory nav to work?

Yes serious question from the photos it's all hard to tell they sit so high they look more like 12-in screen.
