Sorry if this is a dumb question but I thought all the Mavericks already had either a manual or a power rear slider. Besides the extra 2" what is different between this and the original?

Nope, definitely not all.
I would guess probably less than 20% have a sliding rear window.

No, on the XLT you had to spring a whole $155 for it. On the XL, it required the addition of Co-Pilot 360 for $650 (but of course that also added power mirrors). There were sooo many XL and XLTs that I passed up in my search because of no window, and no aftermarket alternatives available... At the time.. It was buy one and have it installed by Safelite for about $1200.

$155... I can't believe buyers and dealerships were so cheap and didn't get the rear window for every single XLT they put on their lot or driveway.

XL, that I can understand they passed, as it really amounted to $805 to get the manual rear slider window and power windows and the safety tech ( the safety tech, most XL buyers probably didn't want it)

Ah yeah that's kind of dumb. I would have expected all trims to have at least a manual one. I just looked at the builder and the 2024 and 2025 Lariat windows look slightly different in the 3D renders as well which is odd. Both claim to be power windows but the 2024 looks like it has a latch? I'm guessing its just a glitch on the builder but I also noticed the 2025 XL no longer has an option to add the rear window.

Starting in '24 MY, a slider was not available on any trim except the Lariat and that came with the powered one as always. Prior to that you could get the manual one on an XL or XLT for $155 extra. Not sure about '25's.

Looks good just would be a pain in the butt to open it from the rear door then every time you park or get out you've got to Open the rear door again, close it reopen it.

Kind of surprised ford doesn't offer a heated rear window whether solod glass or a slider. Both of my power sliding f-150s head heated rear glassand were XLT's.

I do remember some people in colder climates have an issues with the rear glass exploding though on the f-150s with rear heated glass.
My thoughts on that exactly. I don't have a dog that would ride in the back, nor would I want to get in the back and open and close everytime I got in/out. Super great for those that use it and are okay with their ways. It does look great, but just not for me, since I am usually alone.

I had ordered a '23 XL that never got built, I forgot the slider required the CP360 package, but I wanted it anyway. For the $650 you got Lane keep assist, Blind spot warning, cross traffic alert, power mirrors and a "full size" spare tire. That also gave me the option to get the slider which all 3 of my previous Ford pickups have had. Nothing like the ventilation it can provide.

manual rear slider not available on XLT either... that's been true since 2024. really, it's that the manual rear slider window has been discontinued.. It's just power slider on Lariat, Lobo and Tremor now.

Which to me is comedy because the lariat doesn't even have a power passenger seat, like what the hell. 36k or more and the front seats in a top trim isn't both power.

I mean what's it really cost to add a power mechanism in a Maverick $150-$200. But the Mavericks lariat package is like $4,500 come on now. I know if I was going to buy a lariat I'd rather have a power passenger seat than a power sliding rear window that possibly leaks.

To get a power passenger seat is another upgrade to a RANGER.
Starting at $19,995
Mavericks were built for single poor folks.😁

Funny, I guess the 2014 chevy equinox I bought new in 2014 was a rich man's car. As it was the mid-tier 2LT with leather seats and included a power liftgate as well as power passenger seat with heated front seats and the built-in Sirius XM tuner to boot for $30,625. I paid $23,885 out the door without a trade-in or any money down.

As well as 0% interest for 5 years. Currently has 227,000 mi on it and everything still works.

I know there has been several posts about both power and Manual rear sliding glass option for the Maverick and whether It’s useful or practical or not. In my case I purchased a 22 Maverick XL brand new and have been doing some modifications to my liking - I liked the idea of a rear sliding glass since I occasionally transport my 80 pound yellow lab in the back and she likes to peek through and check on us. The grandkids sit in the back and it’s nice to lower the front windows and open the rear slider for a cross breeze they seem to like that / I saw a few used sliders on eBay, both power and manual for what still seemed like a pretty good premium.

I found this aftermarket slider from national auto glass direct located in south El Monte, California - it was $403 with free shipping - it’s identical and design to the OEM factory glass but the center glass is approximately 2 inches wider, which was fine by me since the OEM is so tiny- The rear view from inside is perfectly fine/ Your local glass guy charged me $75 for the removal and installation. I boxed up and saved my old glass just in case. I hope some of you guys find this useful -

Looks like a good alternative considering it is no longer an option on the XLT. I have a 2025 XLT on order and would really like a sliding rear window. I'm just not sure if I am willing to pay that much for it.

I had one of these on an '80s F-150. Never used it and I wouldn't even pay 50 bucks to have one added to my Maverick. To each their own, though. At least this is an option for those who see a need or use for it.
