Criticizing the power of the Ecoboost highway acceleration in an FX4 which does not have a Sport mode.

He makes assumptions about the hybrid driving experience without any evidence. Every other review I've seen says the hybrid is adequate for what you need.....while getting 40+mpg.
He also gets confused about in-city vs highway passing power.

In-city is really just a matter of traction off the line and power to weight ratio. On the highway absolute power and aerodynamics matters more than power to weight ratio.

Maverick Ecoboost AWD has more traction than it needs and a good hp/weight ratio, so in-city should be great. I predict from the hybrid's 33mpg highway fuel economy compared to its 42mpg city that the Maverick isn't all that aerodynamic, and as such its really just a matter of 250hp vs high-drag. And in the case of the hybrid while you have the efficiency of the CVT, its 190hp vs high drag so passing at 70mph should be adequate but not exciting in the hybrid.

That said, when I'm on the highway 99% of the time I'm chilling on cruise control, and if it takes me two extra seconds to pass at high speed its a non-issue.

He missed a lot of things....
Yeah, he said 'put a piece of plywood in the Flex Bed slots' - I mean I guess you could technically rip a piece of plywood to fit, but they're definitely for 2x4s and 2x6s.

I stopped watching his videos a long time ago because he can be very annoying. He gets too excited, giggles like a girl, and speaks way too fast a lot of times. Also, he misses some obvious information such as horsepower numbers, engine options, and prices on trims. I missed it when he made personal videos about his own cars when he wasn't as fast paste and giggly.

I don’t care if he had the cure for cancer. I just couldn’t take more than 60 seconds.

What does the sport mode even do? Make the throttle more responsive?

I'm unsure why he would only give it a 7/10 for value considering how he went on and on about how cheap it is during the rest of the video. Like what is a 9/10 value then?

I watch all of Doug’s videos and it’s well known that his scale makes absolutely no sense. I think he just fudges the numbers to make it comparable to other vehicles.

He usually reviews sports cars, so 190 hp isn’t much to him.

190 hp is great compared to a base corolla or civic that is similarly priced to an XLT hybrid.

Everyone seems focused on this guy's presentation style but the one thing that actually caught my eye was that "hidden" storage that would be behind where you store your large as drink on the side of the door. i had not seen that before, gives me one more area to stuff. but here is my take away on his whole summary. it is a small truck, with storage capabilities, multifunction uses and it is economical!!!! Throw in the base line hybrid (if that unicorn does exist) that I ordered, then it becomes fuel efficient as well. You had me at a budget friendly, practical truck with excellent fuel economy

Doug Demuro is, to borrow one of his favorite terms, a quirky individual. He has his only fresh way of reviewing cars that I tend to find refreshing. He is definitely an acquired taste but I really enjoy his videos as a whole. He is a tough grader on his Doug score but he is consistent about it.
