You can sell your vehicle whenever you want. Being able to buy exactly what you want as a replacement isn't a mandate. You can buy a Lariat right now. You can buy another vehicle right now.
Yeah, but who would buy, from me, at the same price, a vehicle that has an unresolved recall? Any shrewd buyer would want a significant discount. I couldn't blame them. So that's how I would perceive to be injured: I can't get full value.

Went in to my local dealer for the wiper motor and he said Ford might just replace the camera rather than a software fix. The 25's have a different camera so we may get it.
well i hope it gives a better picture. compared to my wife's Mazda, the display is like a CRT v OLED

I'd love them to add an official front park assistant camera ( as it's hard as hell to judge the front end on this trucklet)

What is the issue? Ours has been fine for 2 years.
"Tim d"
Consider yourself fortunate.
A LOT of others have not been and have had problems, including me. Ford chose to take a slow-roll approach to finding a fix, for a Federally Mandated Safety Feature.
It's not up for debate whether it's needed, wanted, whether someone will ever use it. Because they've been backing up for 110 years without a backup camera.
It's s a mandated required safety device just as horns, turn signals, brake lights, seat belts, airbags....etc.

The government decided to kick Ford in the ass with a $169,000,000.00 fine and told Ford they couldn't sell any of the affected Maverick's until they were fixed.
Below are some threads concerning the problem one of them is from 2022.

Maybe, back in 2023 Ford should not have laid off software engineers.
I wonder if 169 million would have paid their salaries?

Credit NBC:
According to recent reports, Ford has been laying off software engineers as part of a larger cost-cutting measure, primarily affecting engineering roles across its U.S. and Canadian operations, including those working on both internal combustion and electric vehicle projects, as the company restructures under its "Ford+" plan; these layoffs are aimed at managing costs during the transition to electric vehicles.

the 'good' IT guys (and gals) are the ones that are the root cause of about 80 percent of the recalls due to either bad coding/bad testing/ or some rush into production
You do know that Embedded Software Engineers aren't the same as IT guys, right?

"IT Guys" spans the world of IT including software engineers, SAs , DBAs and everyone else - it's a generic term - whoever can't code and do thorough testing are the culprits for their seemingly unending recalls and updates. You get the idea.

According to your previous post you ordered a 2025 the problem does not exist on the 2025.

Long MacArthur Ford posted about this issue a week ago on YouTube. They have ~90 Mavs they can't sell.
They also have a thread on MTC with that video and pages of comments.

Now THEY might have a potential lawsuit if they are paying money (and they may be) for all those sitting on the lot, but can't sell them due to negligence by Ford - if they could prove that.

Regarding your ability to sell - say there is no issue, but the resale value tanked for any number of reasons, let's say one reason because of Ford reputation.
Is there a lawsuit because you couldn't get the value from it you perhaps might have much earlier?

You could sell it now - there would be a buyer.

Updated my prior post #41
I checked "dwatten's" prior posts they did order a 2025. I guess they have no idea that this problem does not pertain to 2025 models.
